I’m guessing we’ll probably lose this medal? Shame for the other 3, one is local to me and have seen him in the gym once or twice.

British sprinter Chijindu Ujah has been suspended from competition after testing positive for a banned substance.

Ujah, 27, was part of Team GB men’s 4x100m relay team which won silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics earlier this month.

apparently Ostarine and S-23 - both of which are not approved drugs and seemingly used by that fine cohort of drug users, bodybuilders.

I remember a few mths ago on ST, somebody got popped for this. Can’t remember if it was a triathlete, I do remember it was a woman. Empfield was swearing up and down that it wasn’t a legitimate bust because X,Y or Z

Extremely strange for in competition positive, very old drugs, very known cycles, screwed up blood bags if it was an endurance athlete but it’s just weird for a sprinter to get it so wrong.

They are both Somali born and good friends as well as training together as @buzz mentioned. The white Belgian guy was really chuffed for both of them.

Training partners, both trained by Paula Radcliffe’s other half I think

Weird that they’re now using testosterone suppressors to build muscle :man_shrugging:t2: The world of doping is strange.

Surely they need to change the name to the “really modern pentathlon” or “more modern pentathlon” if they change the events?

And won’t anyone think of all those poor kids slogging their guts out riding the horses for the last 20 years who now won’t get a shot at the olympics, beaten by some little upstart cyclist from some council estate in south london?

Change the shooting to 9mm semi auto hand guns and South London kids will be all over it. Just the swimming to master, but they could swap that to bombing or heavy petting

Fencing? with knives?

More seriously, it would (i) completely change the event and (ii) make it a whole lot more accessible. I would love to give it a go, the horsey bit always put me off. Did a ‘have a go’ fencing session after 2012, it was great fun.
