Could probably hear the moaning about something (too hot/too cold/too windy/too still/etc etc) before he even got in sight :joy:

You saying I have a “unique” gait? :face_with_monocle:

@r0bh - It actually wasn’t too hot, or cold, or
Windy, or still.
The wind was annoying on the bike, made it a bit harder, but I was only a couple of minutes off my target (well, BBS prediction) and I lost that stopping to pick up my bottle, twice :muscle:t3::+1:t3:

It was the humidity.
Never experienced anything like it.

Towing a cart with spare tubs during the bike leg

Yeah it was humid yesterday, did a short ride late morning (Blaze and Pym Chair) only took one bottle and was gasping by the end

That’s gotta be his pornstar name

Mentalist.
Straight up and over Blaze?
Where it just keeps bloody going up?
Then down to Jenkins Chapel?

Decent route that :+1:t3:

BTS bottle? If so, use a bungee/leash arrangement to hold them in place (goes around the nozzle).

Yep, up Blaze from Bollington, up more then down to Jenkin Chapel, up to Pym Chair, down The Street, across the dam and up to top of Long Hill. Decent bit of climbing in only a few miles

Oof!!!
Yeah - I do that, but then up The Goyt, down the Cat and home.

Brilliant ride :ok_hand:t4::white_check_mark:

@Jorgan - no, I’d taped a second tub behind the saddle. It was the stupid aero bottle. Twice. I looked at it Friday and debated putting some industrial Velcro on it to hold it in, too :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
No littering, remember :relaxed:

Yes, I used velcro on my Specialized Virtue.

What was your final time @Poet?

I had a mate out there who did a 10.45. So must’ve been close-ish to you.

Was that from 2019?

Doing that Scandi clapping thing just before the start?

:rofl:

Yeah, FOCUS!!!
I properly miss the mass, in-water starts :frowning:
I suffer from mild hyperventilating/panic without them, had it at Southport and yesterday, didn’t have one at IMUK, I think the AC/DC pumped it out of me :rofl:

@gingerbongo - 10:49 something, who was your mate? I probably saw them

1 Like

Dan Palmer was his name. Green and black tri suit, the team name has something to do with a wolf (his mate and coach’s team). Probably went past you right at the end then.

Can’t recall a “Dan”
Loads of those Green and White camo/neon/flash Zoot suits, they look really good…

…grab a brew and prepare your insults;

A riding buddy of mine did his first LD at Outlaw yesterday. Really solid result coming in 11:49, not bad on a road bike with clip on bars and finished with a cracking run. His swim is a bit slower than yours but came through that in 1:20.

I actually found the Rolling Start at Hamburg a lot more ‘relaxing’. Seeing people start ahead of you and moving forward in the queue was just less tense than waiting for the gun. That said, I still miss the mass starts, as they are a great spectacle.
