I just wanna see that sunrise at the top and then I’ll make some lunch . I think I would just be bawling waiting for the race to start no believing I was actually there

Did I hear that right, this first climb is the largest of the day? I honestly get this course, Hardrock and Leadville mixed up

Yep I think that first bit is 4.5 miles with 2,500 metres of climbing or similar . Also its just under 5000 metres of ascent over all for the race .

Good to see that it’s not long after the elites that the folks hiking the initial climb start

I listened to a podcast with Ian Sharman who is a massive advocate of hiking the hills and really practising hiking during training.

The views from the top of the Escarpment are absolutely stunning with the sunrise. Better than 50 mile an hour wind and driving rain on Snowdon this morning
