Shit me that was hard! Straight off the plane, check in, change and off we went. Turns out it was The hottest part of the day and we were probably all dehydrated and had woken up at 3am!
But once the 75 odd mins of misery ended and I got to the top it was bloody beautiful. Proper scrambling up scree etc. My legs are battered! Did some great ridge work on the way down and then some free flowing single track. Great start to the weekend!
When I lived in Godalming, I used to run the canal path to Guildford and back. You could do it in reverse, start down by John Lewis. (I think), there’s a pub and a small weir there. I can’t remember the exact location.
About half way along, you come across a gate with some steps, that leads up to a bridge and another trail that goes over toward Bramley.
It turns into more of a river at the Godalming end but I’m not actually sure where it goes. By that point I was always knackered and sought sanctuary in the old converted chapel that’s now a cafe. (Bell and ‘something’)
For people who slate Benidorm, it is cheap to get to, cheap to stay, great nightlife and family parks etc., and the running, climbing, cycling and swimming, wakeboarding etc. in close vicinity are amazing all year round as can be seen in the photos. Have swam out and round that island in the distance a few times - further than it looks (about 5k round trip).
I had your holidays mixed up, I thought you were in Belize, that’s why I was so impressed with your ability to run after landing. I thought it looked a bit barren
