The previous course was proper tough according to a friend of mine that did it - don’t know what the drop rate was?
I hadn’t but got an email last night saying that they’d found another 100 entries for the long races so could be linked and getting more entries.
No idea of the drop out from last year - I assume the people who signed up did it because of the course . I can imagine if the weather is bad it could be a miserable and slightly scary experience. I feel that UTMB do tend to over subscribe - Chiang Mai was chaos and the beginning and end.
The one I started in Italy last year was similar, despite 3 waves there was a massive pinch point after 1k, they could have probably stretched it further but mostly too many people.
Haven’t they added a 80km as well? It’s all about ‘respecting the trails’ remember! ![]()
Possibly, it was instantly longer than I can run so deleted it ![]()
The 80k is a weird one, it’s a point-to-point race that is pretty much separate from the rest of the event… although looking at the map now, it does share some of the new 100k course so that would make aid stations easier.
I’ve been watching Chris’s videos about his Northern Traverse training, saw he was doing this so introduced myself (at about 2:13), appear a few other times as we were leapfrogging most of the race.
I was looking out for you in that Iron Bru top ![]()
Have to admit it has put me off UTMB a bit…. (although I am sure I will do another one at some point!) World Trail Major is looking good right now ![]()
SDW100 again @p00key ?
It was only visible occasionally, mostly covered by my jacket
Damn You, I’d not seen them before although I know people here have done races like SDW.
Now I’m looking at races at Fuji and Arizona ![]()

I’m a support runner for a mate who is in Sedona 125 - looking forward to going out to check it out . Also hoping my legs are not to trashed to do a run to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up ( more a jog!)
I have also completed the HK100 . Ironically just before lock down - that was a great race .
I really fancy the rim to rim trail as a walk/hike/jog but it’s a long way round by road! And I’m less sure about some of the sheer drops ![]()
43.5km off road - Cragg Runner 10 Resevoirs Race - in the Pennines
Km’s and km’s of bog filth - sometimes knee deep
Lots of climbing
Did it with a colleague from work - her first marathon - we finished in 7:17 which fair play to her was only 30mins longer than it took me last year
Ran for quite a while with a guy who was an amputee running with a blade - fantastic effort for him given the ground conditions
Great prep for Tenerife Blue Trail in 2 weeks
Good work champ ![]()
