Training outdoors in winter: yes or no

I’ve never had a fry up or anything like that really, occasionally had something warm if it was a long ride like soup or something.

But it’s usually just a pot of tea and cake or scone.

Otherwise I really start to get cold and stiffen up.

Erm, I appreciate I probably have more disposable time than most

This is what used to piss me off with the club rides of a larger club I was in. The ride leaders would decide the cafe, get there first, get in the queue and by the time the rest of us had parked the bikes, joined the queue and got our drinks, they’d finished theirs and were shouting at everyone to hurry up.

I enjoy coffee rides with mates in Somt way more than my club stops but in winter, I’d rather ride shorter/harder then stop at the end or not at all.
I remember one ride we did from Wells, it was bloody freezing, we got to Wedmore which is only about 12/13km, decided on a stop to warm up before continuing. We had our stop, decided we were still cold and rode straight home again. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
