Training Peaks - Worth it?

Yeah, phone app still has colour coded sports.

The red/green/yellow/amber still shows for sessions and their completed-ness.

I liked the fact rest days were grey, as you could clearly see the session on a given day was optional as the grey armchair above it was indicating a rest day.

I don’t like it.

@PCP - Not on their FB group.

I’m not on the FB group. It was a sponsored ad with the changes explained.

Hopefully they listen and switch the colours back. I’m not using desktop at the moment because I’m away but it will annoy me when I get back!

Glad it’s not just me who dislikes it. It feels so much busier.

I get the accessibility issue but there is so many other solutions. I did see a while back they were hiring a UX Designer, so have been optimistically waiting to see what they’d be changing. This was not what I’d hoped.

Also, is it just me or can they fix the height of the workout cards or something? There is no consistency. I prefer the compact view of the cards but then you lose the detail in the summary part. :man_shrugging:

So, are they changing it back, or what???

dunno. There are a few people in the comments asking with no responses yet.

I thought it would be a bigger issue than it is. If you are flying solo it isn’t a problem really but I imagine it is if you are a coach with multiple athletes.
Still was an utterly stupid decision to change it based on some idiots thinking the colours were for intensities.

Didn’t like it when I first saw it, but prefer it now

What do you guys do for swim?
I press LAP so it records rest but when it uploads it only gives total swim time not inc rest.
Does this not mess with TSS?

TSS in swimming is a bit of a nonsense anyway. There is a blog about it on Training Peaks or Joe Friels site.

Swim TSS is shit. WKO4/5 calculates it differently to TP. basically TP takes into account rest, WKO5 uses total time as it says this is more realistic as rest comes into work load. Yet another reason i take the metrics with a pinch of salt and use them to guide not inform

This irks me greatly.
Especially on strava.

Walk breaks in a run?
Counted.

Freewheeling on a bike?
Counted.

Resting in the pool or lake?
Our survey said…:x:

Did 30 minutes of swimming yesterday, Strava and TrainingPeaks tell me I only did 23

At least Strava gives you elapsed time so you can amend in TP if you want

just dont stop the watch, means it all works out and means you are finishing a length not reaching for the watch

Anyone else’s TP totally fallen over this morning?

CODES!!!

My renewal is coming up and I need a new code…

…which reminds me of 2019 and this time of year;

Working 2 days per week
Cycling long Weds, Fri and Sun
4 swims per week (2 squad)
running 3-5 times per week

Entered Bolton and Staffs, really pleased to be finally doing an M-Dot event.

This year?
15lbs heavier, totally un-motivated to do anything.
Working full time.

Google seems to suggest sessions in training peaks don’t sync to polar devices like the way they automatically do to garmin. Anyone able to confirm or add about suunto etc, or are we all purely in the garmin universe?

I used the free month from here https://forum.tritalk.co.uk/t/training-peaks-code/1556/4
