It was the 2nd session of the tri club’s winter S&C last night. The first week we did a circuit of what I would call weight training exercises which I was Ok with as I do a bit at home.
Last night every exercise was core based with floor exercises (planks, crunches, etc) to finish off.
I was fully expecting to have to roll out of bed onto the floor this morning and get up off my hands an knees but I’m not as bad as I expected. Still got to get through tomorrow though, maybe it will be a delayed one.
Very easy 6km run, first one since Friday. 34:35
Had a little gap and was still feeling stiff from nearly 5 hours in the car yesterday, so just nipped out for a 30 min run in my lunch break. Nice and easy.
Get those heated seats on, La
13.4 quite hilly kms.
1:02:40.
Some lovely November sunshine out there.
Orca long sleeve top was too tight and too hot!
So 4;40 per km ish.
Hr over 160 most of the run so pretty maximal.
Straight in the water for swim drills. ( 30 mins)
I was starting to get a little rhytym together of alternating a zwift snd run each day. Only 30-40 mins. Typically I’m now ill. Feel like absolute shit.
Sore throat, snotty nose and absolutely drained. Had to have an afternoon nap.
30 minute spin class, after smashing down a pizza at lunch.
That happens. Don’t be disheartened- fortnight it’ll be back to normal and you’ll bounce back probably feeling fresher
…. But then I am on crack
Keep a positive mindset mate, come out the other side ready to go. It’s very easy let a setback become a huge gap.
Spin class at lunch, swim tonight.
11 mile jog/run

Bit sluggish today - wonder why?…
Was really mild though - Still in shorts and it was too warm even for my decade and a half old Helly Hansen-holes in it- singed on a radiator-thermal vest.
good effort
Squeezed in a 3km “utility jog”.
Up early, lumpy run.
8.4km
117m elevation
38 minutes
Very easy 9km run, 52mins, then a 1km walk home.
3000m swim, easy pace, baggy shorts, five year old decathlon goggles, and general shiteyness
Apart from the constant goggle leaks nothing much happened. Woman took like 20m to pass me and then because of the draft it was like I stalked her for the next 400m. 🕵🏻♀ Lifeguard came over and asked a guy to move up into the fast lane…he said “No, I’m slow.”
Was planning to go for 5000 but “that’ll do, pig”.
Easy hour on the trainer today, a late start Parkrun yesterday with a couple of days bike commuting. If it ever stops raining I’ll get out for an easy, short jog. It’s been a nice, relaxed week, my sleep is still way off though. Got up at 10 today! Not sure I’ve done that for years
20 km run early doors with Mrs T and Oska
Get to the finish at 20.3km and stop my watch to wait for Mrs T - she them insists on doing another 1km to get her Strava Nov half marathon badge - so actually did 21.3km - but doesn’t count of course - cos Strava
12 hours again this week
4 ! Swims all short and easy ish
1 hour bike
2 hour runs, one in a brick, one quite hard.
One brutal pt session that gave me the worst doms since Bolton 2019.
Rest core and stretch.
More bike next week.
Stick at it folks!
nice!
