Training - What Training?!

I see you longer need to sell a kidney to buy bike parts amy more and a 105 cassette can be had for 40 notes again.

Time to buy one and try some of that there outdoor riding.

Bike needs a good service first, its been strapped to my trainer for about 3 years.

Someone in my club left their bike on the trainer for years, rode it outside and the handlebars snapped. They had corroded in the stem clamp from all the sweat.

If I was you, I’d love Peak Hill Reps (the shallow side, tailwind ~15min) just an awesome workout!

Yeah but i’m a lazy, unmotivated so and so!! I always get like this when i’ve been off the bike a while. Hopefully i’ll get some mojo back in the early spring when it gets a bit brighter. Or maybe i’m just kicking the can down the road!!!

Twice!
Just a bruised thumb muscle bit (no idea what it’s called!)

Both times have been people slowing down rapidly in front of me, as I’ve been speeding up.
So lack of shouts from them, plus lack of attention from me :face_with_peeking_eye:

There was a piece the other day that Giant have told some suppliers that they’ll have to wait longer to get paid, doubt they’re in the clart and is probably more creative accountancy.

But it implied the combination of overstock, northern hemisphere winter meant a slowdown.

Was hoping some bikes got reduced :joy:

Wrong thread, but Giant’s anouncement should send shock waves through the industry - They unilaterally extended payment terms to all suppliers by 45 days (which technically they cannot do), at the same time they said that revenue and profit was up. This is a catastophic failure of supply chain management. They clearly have cash flow issues, there is no other reason why you would extend payment terms and piss off suppliers. I suspect that they bought whatever components they could when suppliers were having delivery issues earlier this year, as a reslt they have a lot of unfinished work in progress, at the same time, dealers bought whatever they could for the same reason (hence record revenue), now dealers are not placing orders as they already have a ton of stock that they cannot shift

My son is a mechanic in a bike shop. They have bikes come off the turbo trainer and in for a service: stems and bars are in a dangerouse state. Aluminum, steel, a nice sweaty salt bridge and you have a battery - that will corrode the aluminum to dust very fast. Apparently some of the bikes are so bad that they pour fluid out of the steerer tube

Yeah my Canyon was pretty manky when I had it down last year. If corroded the stem bolt thingy.

Probs should protect the tt bike a bit better really!

I do have an old Tacx sweat catcher on there so hopefully that has stopped the worse of it, but yeah I think I need a full strip down and rebuild.

I have been meaning to change the stem for years because its a bit long so that will give me the impetus to do it finally.

Yeah, it did come over as bullying from a big company, although I suspect people like Shimano would be a bit peeved.

Like you say they’re probably pausing production due to overstocking and poor demand.

That’s a shame
