Ive got same-day DOMS. This is bad, means I wont be able to walk tomorrow
Donât get me started on virtual rides. I use TrainerRoad but I donât publish the rides on Strava. Theyâre beyond tedious. Is there a way to set your Strava feed to hide all virtual rides, commutes, runs less that 10k (unless run at <4min/km), walks, and any activity that includes the word âdogâ or âtouch rugbyâ or âSUPâ? My Strava feed is a sea of dull punctuated by a mate occasionally doing something interesting or note worthy.
And hot take: a Rapha 500 with indoor rides doesnât count. And I donât care if you live in Anchorage suck it up cup cake.
Dry January sucks .
I was using something else that let me set custom rules - I canât remember if that was just for settings against my own activities tho. Will keep hunting for it!
Edit: Yes the other one was just for rules against your own activities - still had a purpose (for me).
Iâll stick that on my desktop, ta!
9K run home
All uphill
All into the wind
Car exhaust fumes
Chemical plant smells & fumes
Starving
Knocked a year off my life and my legs ache for no apparent reason now
I think my tacx might be dieing, too much use I guess, was making a bit grinding noises when I put some effort in, and after going back into the room to get the laptop after the shower, it smelt all a bit burnt.
At least this gives me the excuse of not riding it any more - the 25minutes I did may well be the total for the year.
Exactly this.
But Iâm doing a âPost Festive500â with no mention of Rapha
@buzz - Did Richmond Reverse just now
Thatâs one course down, loads to go!
460km cycled in eight days
@joex, that Garmin profile makes you look like Ironman (superhero, not event).
Anyway, running intervals first thing.
3 x 1 mile, 2:00 rest.
Each mile rep was lumpy (20m elevation) and a couple of sharp turns.
Average 6:40 pace. Better than expected.
The truth isâŚI am Iron Man
5km easy, 28 min
Brick session, first in ages
Was not feeling the love from 30-60mins but turned on the last episode of the Night Manager to get me through it and was fine.
Very happy to start the short run though I felt some kind of problem in my left knee, walked for a bit a restarted. 6:00/km, raised it to 5:00/km at the end to catch up and make the average better.
Climbers Gambit
1hr 2mins of utter pain.
I wanted to finish under an hour, with a sub24 for the Epic KoM. Managed a 24:17
12 more km to do 500km in eight days
I was going to finish it outdoors, but itâs dark and wet. I can cycle tomorrow. Iâm the dry daylight.
One hours stretching in hydro pool AM
one hours easy weights ( 1 kg dumbbells ) core, abs etc. PM
Easy day as tough session planned Saturday.
Casual ride of 52kms in 1hr 15 mins.
Totally legit. Nothing to see here!
8km easy run, 45min
Tempus Fugit at 2.2W/kg with 148 other people?
I went outside.
It was horrific
Went over the bars after 10km.
No shouts of âslowingâ and I ploughed right into the back of someone
It was then into the INTERVAL session from hell.
Smashing ANY incline or hill and totally freewheeling the downhills.
As Iâm so shit as climbing, I couldnât get to the frontâŚwhich is where I need to be to pedal like fury downhill to get the momentum to carry me up the other side.
But no.
Just me, struggling.
2.5hrs 64km.
Oh, and the bin men didnât take the landfill bin as Iâd put the Christmas tree (chopped up) into it.
âThatâs garden waste pal, we canât take thatâ
My garden bin is full! Youâve not taken it for four weeks
âWell, youâll have to take your tree to the tipâ
FFS
Iâll have you know I was on the 2.7w/kg ride young man!
I thought about going outside. Looked at my kit. Couldnât think of a route I actually felt like doing. So just jumped on the turbo, popped on a podcast and went to my safe place!
Didnât hurt anything this time did you @Poet?
Youâve crashed a bit recently Good luck on Dirty Reiver
Bin men, wankers. Iâve loaded mine up with all sorts over the years. Green waste, building waste and rubble over several weeks, never had an issue. Put it in the bottom with bag full of normal over the top.
