Training - What Training?!

second dose of Covid in 3 months  Mild symptoms, Cough and sore throat. Did a very gentle Zwift Club meetup this morning, actually felt quite nice, kept HR in Z0-1

Had an awful night’s sleep last night. Firstly just lay there until almost 2am before i finally drifted off. Brain was buzzing like i’d had 10 cups of coffee for no good reason. Then woke up constantly from about 5am!

Decided at 6.30 that i needed to quieten my head, so just grabbed my running kit and head off for a nice and easy loop around the town. Really helped. Need to do that more often and get up early again.

No CBA since the start of the year. There is a difference between not training because I don’t feel great and CBA because…

I think you need to share your Strava snaps, you’re a lucky man.

I’ve done this sport off and on for decades.

Today I’m really keen to race, this time last year I was getting huge and looking at other challenges.,I had zero interest in tri.

I can’t think of anyone who has thrown them self into the sport trained so much and achieved very near to the max possible for that individual as you.

In my opinion it’s hard to keep this going for years and years, I’ve no doubt a very few do, but most don’t .

I’m sure your mojo will return as you still have more to give, get well soon and do what feels natural ( a challenge you really fancy can sometimes help)

Post illness, I’m now getting back in the groove a bit. I’ve got to make a decision this week: go riding on Sunday or go clubbing Saturday night

Thanks. I don’r exactly feel that I have lost my mojo. I am still looking forward to racing this season, however, I have lost the laser focus on Ironman and the desire to train hard to be at the top of my AG

Last year was a very long season, I started early, maximising the opportunity of gardening leave early on in the year. September was tough staying focused all the way to Kona. At the moment, I am happy keeping things ticking over, at some point I may focus some more

No training yet today but I’ve rejoined Zwift and checked everything is connected. Might have a spin later. I think the last time I turned a pedal was back in October!

Couldn’t resist. Jumped on Zwift and did 2 x 2 Bridges Loop.

30.39 and av watts, wait for it, 158  Jesus Christ :man_facepalming:

On the plus side, I see that I’ve ticked over 10,000kms on there. :+1:

Right bit of a back story.

6 weeks ago a prisoner ( who gets himself very fit from time to time but is quite mad, huge PD issues) asked me to do a fitness event in the prison on the 26 th Jan, despite it having 200 tuck jumps and 200 burpees in it I agreed.

I’ve kind of done a few sessions we’re the 10 exercises have got steadily easier ( except burpees) and was ready to have a go, in the mean time DG has had a complete mental break down, didn’t eat for 6 days one week and started vaping !

Today I did it anyway, not in the prison but a double session with PT, who was brill.

Target was sub 2 hours, fastest recorded time to date was 1:51, but that will have been beaten by one of the 42? Convicts having a go today.

Dossed the row and run and went ballistic just to get to the burpees… I was I a dark place but managed 1:45:09.

It was truely awful… I love this shit !
