Rest day.
Work pressure before a long weekend.

We ALL make that mistake from time to time, I won’t run for a week or so, it didn’t go, but it probably would if I ran / ran hard hard now.

Bike is ok, if anything feels better after each session. Be ok to race soon

Too much fucking backstroke.

Something like

300 fs
100 breast
400 of something
200 kick fins
2x66 fs rpe 5->10

8x33 IM singles

Then I think it was 6x100 IM type stuff
2x 33 fly 66 back
2x 33 back 66 breast
2x 33 breast 66 fs
(Everyone else getting a minute rest while I got nothing on the backstroke sets)

2x 133 paddle/pull

Day got away from me and my long ride turned into a long turbo that turned into an hour spinning in the evening.

Couldn’t catch a break as the rain hammered down and flooded my utility room. Had to jump off and sort that out - just 30 minutes in the end :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Don’t stress it mate. I’d say, all things considered, you’re most definitely winning at the mo!

Oh I’m not!

Just the feeling of frustration when I’ve got something ā€˜planned’ and in my head it should happen but it doesn’t for reasons out of your control

Obviously doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things - gonna be up against it today as it’s the middle ones 4th birthday. I’m off to some trampoline thing in a minute

Oohh nice!

We’ve got that for a second weekend in a row. Luckily when they’re going to 8th bday parties it’s drop and go!

Just went for a very easy 5km test run, 33 mins  Calf seemed ā€˜ok’ but got the impression if I pushed it then I might be in trouble. Maybe some turbo and hiking on the weekend?

My back hurts just looking at your saddle to stem ratio. I could never have it like that.

What do you mean?
Big drop?
Long reach?

I like a smaller frame and loads of seatpost, just makes the bike feel more nimble.

This is my winter bike, my summer bike is even more aggressive :joy:

My gravel bike feels like a MTB in comparison, stack is massive on that!!!
Single speed is sat-up, for commuting safety :+1:t3:

Big drop.

This is mine. I was never able to get comfortable in anything more aggressive. The geometry is very relaxed as well, plus the frame is huge

Hell!!!
That’s practically level :exploding_head:
Where do you even get steerer tubes that long

I’m aware you’re a giant of a man, too, so I suppose it’s that?

Conor Dunne’s bike looks okay, though?

Marked some time for a runch today. Been ANOTHER crap week training wise. Though was ill and off work on Tues.

This run however was the opposite to how my Tuesday started! HR was sky high from the off. Effort was up. Legs were sore, like i’d run 100km this week, despite barely moving these past 3 days.

Clearly still suffering/fighting this mystery illness that’s hanging around. No idea what’s going on, but i’ve not felt ā€˜right’ for almost 3 weeks now.

But did I spot the signs immediately and back off the pace to make sure I didn’t aggravate things and to give my body a chance to recover like a nice sensible trafleet? Of course not! I just suffered through it all, hoping I’d make some miraculous recovery half way through the run. Was trotting along the seafront at a steady pace for bloody 180bpm!!! I will likely pay for it as a result!

Smart guy me!

So i’m gonna back it up with my (planned) longest ride since last July tomorrow morning! haha

Part of the problem is as the frames grow in stack, the reach also grows, although I have long arms, I have a short torso and long legs so I need a huge stack and a relatively smaller reach. With the reach too long having it any lower I just cant get comfortable, then I also have the problem of my thighs whacking my torso.

Was a nightmare when looking for a TT bike as there were only about 3 that had the right stack/reach dimensions.
