Got down to the pool for a swim this morning, probably shouldn’t have even bothered. It was pretty horrific and i think probably a result of my weekend catching up with me. Too little sleep, too much wine, beer, bread and cheese. Which, by my reckoning, is pretty much the sign of a good weekend!!

Still, plugged away and got another 2km in. Better than nothing.

Then followed it up with a much more successful run at lunch time. 13 sunny kms, nice and easy.

5km of treadmill over unders in the gym, in the alphas.

400m at faster than 5km pace, 400m at mara pace (as if) *6

nice sess, could have gone on for a few more, but I was very conscious of splattering sweat all over the guy on the next mill and also making a puddle.

Legs battered after yesterdays madness

A very very easy garden turbo 1 hr 45 av hr 119 and that was probably still too hard, nice tan now though ! rest tomorrow

I went for a ride again… yesterday I went on some gravel paths, so took my cross bike, it was cold, so today baselayer, merino layer, winter jacket, heavy waterproof gilet, put the emergency jacket in my pocket too.

I had to put it on, and I was still freezing!

I am ruled by the sunshine and heat. If it’s out, I want to be out 247 and play, I wish that work didn’t get in the way.

0630: swim 1st since dog incident, only about 1000m but good to be back.

1200: 15 x 1minute hill reps running and melting in the heat although that’s what I love.

1630: slow bike, about 21 miles 1712 ft ascent, stopped at a friends to chat for what seemed like ages… ooooh it was so tempting to have a wine/beer at theirs… fought the weakness and instead once I got home, had a few beers with the neighbours :rofl:

Double day but both easy intensity. Lovely swim in the outdoor pool, trying to stay smooth. Spin this evening on the new TT bike, slowly trying to adjust to the position, easy effort again.

I wanted to run the route that LO and I hiked but in reverse so I can climb the steps. (up Ebor Gorge out of Wookey Hole if you know it!).

I was quite tired after our beach day and driving though, so had a lie in until 8.00. Might go out this evening. Might have an ‘Ian day’ :smile:

At least you started…I wanted to do the evening TT, but…

  1. it’s cold
  2. it’s windy
  3. I need to swap wheels and brake pads and readjust the brakes and index the gears
  4. It’s £5
  5. I’ll need to arrive at 6:20pm to sign-on, won’t be riding until ~7:20pm, meaning I won’t get home until ~8pm. Which is an hour/30km of riding for two hours of “not being at home”
  6. I don’t fit into my skin(tight)suit, or my Huub trisuit, so will have to wear flappy clothing
  7. I saw two Darth Vader stick insects roaming the streets on their £12k TT rigs last night, they may exterminate me if I cross their path
  8. The road surface is horrific
  9. Tailwind out/headwind back
  10. I’ve not sterilised my aero bottle

Will that do it?

Why does this one matter, it just needs to go into the cage. You’re not going to need to drink for a 21 minute ride.
