Training - What Training?!

That’s unlikely to be a problem in Wales in September :joy:

1h50 tempo bike today, just over 26 miles and just over 2100ft ascent.

In my defence M’Lady/Lud, I am not fast, I don’t like pain, I don’t like pushing myself in training, and I don’t like headwinds!

Pt session … ridiculous circuit included.
Completion distance sled pull x3.
Walking lunges completion distance x3
Farmers walk half completion distance x3.
25 chest to the floor burpees

This was a step up for me, the rows and ski erg were fair to crap due to the above but I’m not dead.

Then outside for a 13.5 km run with a difference tan with Matt, Matt has just got his 150 park run t shirt, out of those he has had 39? Podiums.

His targets for the next three months are hit 62 kilos a 16:30 5k and a 34 ish 10 k needless to say there’s no race here ! Ended up as a steady chat at 5:30 kms av hr 135.

Stretching now… phew.

Skipping lots of sessions afraid of the big ones and tired from work.

Psyching myself up to go swimming this evening…want to bail.

Did a @jeffB and froze my ass off on a post work “long” ride.

I failed. Miserably.

Went out for 100km, headwind was so bad I missed the group by 5 minutes, so just trundled the 10km home as I couldn’t face another 40km solo with the wind :sob:

72km 2.5hrs :white_check_mark:

EDIT: I don’t think riding 2.5hrs after work is “failing miserably” - so I’ve won. Just by actually doing that instead of sweetFA :trophy:

Late evening run with a mate. Absolutely stunning evening for a run on the Glastonbury moors.

10km, 60mins

2km in the outdoor pool trying to dodge little Jonny performing running bombs into the swim lane all under the watchful eye of the lifeguard and parents who proclaimed he’s such a nice boy. Put my hand paddles on and he soon disappeared. Did 5 x 400 of 30 sec recoveries.

Bit of mobility this evening in the gym with a bro sesh and sauna to complete.

… managed about 3 miles jog ( if that even ) this evening before I jacked it in.

I think - honestly - was still a bit trashed from Tuesday’s ride. First biggish distance in about a month or so…

Overall though my running totally sucks at the moment

Woke up to a cricked back :older_man:t3::probing_cane:

Pain down my left leg. FFS :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Gravel bike is all set up for a commute to the office, with my laptop etc being in the bag. Fookin’ train strikes today, too :x::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Oh well, nice drive rocking out to some tunes instead :guitar:

Got out this morning for a couple of hours with some mates before work. Going to struggle for time this weekend so hoping to do 2 x 2hr rides Fri and Sat instead.

Legs are feeling the last few days now. But all going in the right direction. Once this solstice ride is out of the way it’ll be time to really buckle down with time on the TT bike.

1 hr steady on Zwift, just trying to get my head back into some form of structured exercise.

0500 and bloomin ice on my windscreen, the cheek of it. Drove to somewhere called Polgowan in the Southern Uplands.

Ran 15.43 (to be exact heh heh) miles home, 1029 ft ascent (are you sure, it felt like Everest at times?), Southern Upland Way (SUW), 3h50m . Passed my mate who just started his 430 mile SUW both ways epic. Wonder whether he’ll beat the 7 days and 7 hours set by Woody the autistic runner last year, hmmmm , time will tell.

Nice brekkie then plan to bike back over to get car, in awesome sunshine, gotta be trisuit posing weather again!

WTF :heart_eyes::white_check_mark:

Was it all downhill with a tailwind???

Marginally more normal 5.5 mile run this AM. Think I was just a bit drained.

OW swim this evening

On road obvs! And definitely not all tail wind. Some horrible head wind in places. Pretty flat but did have some climbs. Managed to hold close to 40kph on a couple of flat 2km stints on the aero bars.

Had to run with a laptop/pack and lead a Teams Meeting near the end so don’t judge the pace.
