That is a big day! Well done to you both and best of luck!
Sandringham 24 hour
Put my entry in this morning - would love to get round one of these without giving up for once
Looks great and pretty good value. How far have you gone before?
I’ve done about ten 24 hour races before with the worst at about 30 miles and best at 100 miles. But I’ve always given up at some point long before the 24 hours are up. Would love to do something about that.
That’s impressive. I’ve only done two. Managed 70miles and 75miles. I did get sick (both years actually) but the lure of the motorhome we hired was also ‘strong’

It’s a different type of mental challenge than a regular ultra for sure. Not really harder, just different.
Nice FP!
Thanks, hopefully makes for the fact that I haven’t run since Saturday ![]()
I might do an easy turbo tomorrow but we’ll see, Mrs FP and I both have the day off while LO is at school, so will head out somewhere.
Saturday will volunteer at parkrun and Sunday is the Hampshire Hoppit trail marathon.
Calf is not overly happy but ok ![]()
Yeah, keep that calf in check. I’m ill again, seem to have caught the flu from my dh. Inevitable really but still annoying. Hopefully I’ll be back to sport next week, as I’m off to the mountains in two weeks and I’ll need healthy lungs at altitude.
Went swimming for first time since broken clavicle. Felt OK, shoulder felt a bit stiff more than anything.
Sorry to hear that Anna. It’s Father’s Day here on Sunday, maybe you could send your husband away as a ‘present’? ![]()
Good work @FatPom!
Up most of the night with poorly child.
Anyway, 3 x 2k at the track this morning. Few people also there, so had to do some wide overtakes.
Averaged 8:15 reps, hoping for slightly quicker.
Will swim tonight. Nothing silly, probably 1.5-2k.
Cheers mate. getting up, uugh, it’s harder at my age ![]()
I’ve never run on a track. Volunteer on one but never run. I should give it a go soon.
I’ve never run on a track either or a treadmill thinking about it ![]()
God I’ve done 1000s of kms on a treadmill.
I can see a stairmaster in the future!
Had some TOIL to use up so took the morning off for a planned 3hr route. 2hr 45 of good cycling in I hear the dreaded psssssssssssss sound of my front wheel flattening.
Fortunately it happened 100 yards past a railway station, which I took as a signal from the Almighty and jumped on the train rather than fixing it by the road side ![]()
In a marvellous turn up for the books, I successfully changed the tyre in ‘only’ 7 minutes with no swearing or crying. A new PB!
Progress ?!
Now been to the gym every day twice a day for a month plus rides and runs outside ( one rest day a week, it’s coming !
Sorry for swearing !
last before sunday tri
brick: 1.75 hours very easy bike followed by 1/2 hour run on the flat…cannot remember when I last did a flat run.
good luck ![]()
Really tough event !
Hope you enjoy it
