Mrs FT arranged car before I got over. They asked her what sort of car she wanted- she said cheap. Anything else? White. Oh that’s Ok madam, all cars are white for 1500 miles in any direction. Think is about £350 per month rental

Played tennis with Mrs T yesterday in 100 degree heat with one of those machines at the other end that fires the balls at you - great fun - haven’t played tennis for about 10 years

Short run this morning to see how the legs were - apart from a tight left calf all good - RTTS here we come next weekend

My 2yr Strava fitness graph tells a story.

Training is going in the right direction, fastest laps in the lake this morning & 11 track laps, 5km at 4:40 km average is starting to feel like proper running.

First time on a bike in a fortnight.

A grim 143km in 5hrs 13mins.
Rained for the first hour.

Even did Frodsham Hill, which was grim.

:rofl: Snap but I only did an hour. Could not be arsed and it’s blowing a gale out. Did run an hour in the hills with my reluctant Labrador earlier who refuses to go faster than a rapid trot.

I desperately need some motivation. Like an entry to Lanza or Badlands gravel ultra or Celtman. Else I can’t be faffed.

It was the Club BBQ Ride, obvs I wasn’t going to the BBQ afterwards, but tried to ride with the club again…

We set off at 8am, they stopped at 10:40 for breakfast, I went home :joy: I’d only just had my
Slice of toast at 7:50am :person_shrugging:t3:

I wanted to be home (and ready to go back out!) by 2pm, so could’ve done another 18km …

But having had; a 600ml and 700ml bottle, plus two Nakd bars and two gone off Wiggle gels, I was feeling a little light headed :person_facepalming:t4:

Big start to the week, poor end. But I kind of anticipated it. Unfortunately no swimming which isn’t ideal.

Didn’t manage to get anything in on the weekend. To be fair, I was solo with the girls so it was a bit hopeful to have expected anything. Did manage an 11km ride with my daughter before dinner though. All counts! :joy:

Seeing so many strong performances this weekend has kind of inspired me and kind of really dampened my own personal expectations, especially as I continue to struggle to hit any big weeks.

After this year I think I’ll go back to halves. They’re much easier to fit into life!

Last week was the first week since the beginning of April that I managed a week that could loosely be called training and contained three different disciplines. It still wasn’t a big week though, 7:45. Wales would be too easy if you trained, yes? :see_no_evil:

I will have to have a think about how i can schedule in this week’s activities though. Inset day, teacher strikes, Mrs GB having to switch 2 working days around. All present those annoying little life niggles. I also want to get out for a long run with my mates soon on the coast path or something. And i need to stop putting off getting out on the TT bike for many uncomfortable hours. Plus my bike fit budget has just been wasted on a new phone.
