Training - What Training?!

A lot of indoors training this week.

4 * runs for 39K, about 6k @HMP
4* wattbikes for 92K, 1 reps and about 25 minutes @240W this evening.
1 swim

Struggled for time this week for various reasons and not training particularly hard as I’ve been a bit tired.

Also got a migraine during my run this morning, it was either walk back in the cold and wet or plod on, luckily they are usually just zigzag lines and a blind spot for about 20 minutes. It went, then came back about 30 minutes after I’d finished :rage:

It does seem a bit extreme. But when you overlay with the rate of decline in the run, I’ve really just subbed one kind of training for another. And the bike is a bit less impactful

18 hours…

Was bang on for the big 20 but a Tesco Quiche ruined today…!

Spent mostly on the toilet…!

2x 90 min turbos
2x 2.2 km swims
4 spin classes
2x boxing sessions
Three faster runs 20-75 mins

Weight dipped but is now more suitable for this time of the year…

More outside stuff next week… snow willing!

Stick at it folks

17.5 hours for me.

Very bike heavy but I didn’t have much choice in that with my wife being out, child care and 5 am wake ups from the kids!

5 days bike commuting and 3 turbo sessions,
Some pretty easy running and 2 out of 3 swims planned.

Binned my 400s swim this morning with the early wake up from son number 1 and a 3rd birthday party that we had to leave for just after 9 am.

Quite pleased with January’s volume though. 59 hours which I think is a pb for January!

Will knock the bike back next week and up my swim/run

Was the weight loss pre or post quiche🤔

Just over 40 miles of running this week including a 3 hour run today.

Just over 50km this week for me - 13, 21 & 16.

All pretty easy, with a few quicker kms in the half. Hoped for 4 runs again this week, but work put a stop to that, so I made the 3 runs a tad longer. I want to aim for around 50km or so a week for the next few weeks. That said, with my ultra background of the last few years, 16 and 21km runs don’t feel long in the slightest, so may be an easy way to keep the mileage ticking up. Longer runs in my we’d and Sun eve, whatever I can fit in during the working runches and something a bit longer on my wfh day.

Nice easy week of just under 12 hours for me:

4 swims, 2hrs 33mins, 9.6km (3 club swims, 1 easy pull buoy)
4 bikes, 7hrs 51mins, 195km (1 spin, 1 2hr outdoor steady, 4hr 20mins outdoor hilly, 1 indoor power)
3 runs, 1hr 25mins (!), 17.5km (25mins dog, 21mins 5km brick, 40mins easy)

Skipped my 13km run on Sunday morning for a fry up, instead.
Club swim on Sunday evening was pretty mental:

71 hours in January, record month, not just in terms of time, but also for distance
CTL Increased from 96 to 120
Biked 1370km (540 indoors)
Ran 172km
Swam 18km

Especially pleased with 830km cycled outside in January - weather has been kind, however, done a load of sub zero miles, with the coldest being -8

He’s training for Lanza, so has to suck-it-up in winter :grimacing:

When is Lanza ? can’t be bothered to look it up. May/june?

This is training for that Ultra right? What the hell are you planning on taking with you?! A BBQ, meat and salad with drinks for a half way picnic?!

Late May; so yeah, he has plenty of time to break himself yet

I was about to rant thread the notifications :joy:

No, it’s not the sort of thing you’d do; stick to your Inov8s and lycra hun

Ahh the non civvy type of fun :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

OMM style, or just a weighted race? Or an adventure (as opposed to race?)

4 Bikes - 4hrs - 109km (+4 days commuting - 2hrs - 44km)
