Up early, 5 x 1.2k (rest 2 minutes) at the track.
Averaged 4:53 per repetition, which was pleasing…
…. Especially as I thought the gingerbread man would make an appearance.

8hrs sorting out the garden and other chores yesterday.
A bit broken this morning.
Still got loads left to do
Bike ride sacked off in favour of painting the fence and wall
RE: Franklestein
It looks better now.
But feels much worse than last week
leg loosener ahead of the football and moto ride later. I nearly bailed at 1km in, just wasn’t feeling it after the holiday/driving/case hauling etc.
Everything was aching but then after a bit of a talk with myself, I carried on.
6km, 34.33 at 5.45 pace
Got up and down the stairs one step at a time facing forward
Something I couldn’t do yesterday after park run disaster
Small steps as they say !
2nd rest day today (that’s cardio. There will be some core and strength, roller and stretching).
The temple is feeling the pain of around 8-10 cardio hours for past 3 weeks. Just a slight “hello” from left hammy. OK, don’t worry, I am listening to you, you need a second consecutive rest day, that’s fine
G3 Club Ride 100km +1250m with GS Avanti lead by Alan, on my Cinelli Della Strada.
It all felt pretty much within my wheelhouse until the last long climb home.
Edit
Jeez I’m wrecked! Not far off my tss for an IM bike.
And another 8hrs DIY
House and garden are looking class now like
Just need to sand and paint the downstairs windows and I’m “done”
Oh, patio needs repointing, but I have tried and it’s a NO from me
Will pay someone to do that
pictures or it didn’t happen
No photo = Didn’t happen, right?
Meh
Feels like a bit of a naff week for me but still got just over 10 hours plus whatever I did in the gym & rehab. I was feeling borderline overtraining last week with all the other hassles so decided to cut the fluff Zwift sessions and aimed to do a long ride today. Woke up this morning without much motivation and my Garmin seemed concerned about the recent drop in my HRV it’s only a bit lower than it was earlier this year but has been pretty elevated for about 2 months.
Anyway set off and was just pottering about and actually enjoying it so decided to extend it a bit, got to about 70K and I got a text off the GF who’d decided she might want to go out (I’d messaged her earlier in the ride), but I was at least 40K from home! So I pushed a bit harder and was assisted by a favourable wind, but the ride only ended up at 111K with a 2K OTBR. If I’d continued it would have been about another 20-30K.
Swimming was about 7K with nothing further than 2.5k. Got the long run to 8K and 22K total with a faster parkrun yesterday so hopefully that is going in the right direction again.
I’ll see how this week goes, had been considering a 100M TT next weekend but have decided to scrap it as it would be a pretty early start.
Awful week for me. Just over 4hrs. Quite a few sessions missed for various reasons, but I’m not too fussed. Taper innit.
11 hours due to Saturdays injury.
The best / worst week for some time, highlights were record leg press (5 reps)
Hour bike record (811 cals) with a full 8 bpm less.
Half hyrox
Even had a rest day ish before park run and was hoping for a better time, but hey ho.
My calf is mending and I’m alive.
Trained twice today (or will do).
5k treadmill run this morning. Tough, uphill effort.
So sweaty at the end that the zero hill logo actually peeled off my t shirt.
Will gym tonight, just some injury prefab stuff.
Doing what I can
Still slight limp but it’s mending
Weights and core this morning
Just swam 3k in 56:30 with a pull buoy obviously can’t push off the wall.
You can’t keep a good mungo down
3/4 of the way through the C2 August challenge - week 1, 10k; week 2, 20k; week 3, 30k and just about to start week 4, 40k. So a total of 100k for the months.
That’s going to be tough for us to fit that in with life so I suspect we’ll do 8K for 5 days or 10k for 4 days but split into 2 sessions per day.
getting old is a bitch!
That’s graft
Keep going FB !
Not ideal. But today is looking like a no exercise day again!
Tbf I’ve been mega busy the past 3 days with gardening, allotmenting, DIY and being with the kids. But I could really do with getting out for a blast on my bike.
Been with the girls all day and did get a VERY gentle paddle (and a pint) in! Can that be training?
Fork yeah!!!
I did 10 hours of that last week
