Training - What Training?!

Two weeks after WS I did Race to the Stones

I have done so little ever since - mojo totally gone

Hopefully a week in Chamonix next week fills me with inspiration (and shouting for @p00key in OCC)

You will achieve nothing in 2 weeks apart from possible injury fatigue.

Better to be over rested than over trained ( old one!)

Looking at the forecast can you do a couple of swims in your washing machine on full cycle?!

Enjoy the coffee

I just spent my lunchtime with the wife, kids are at their grandparents, cooking in the sunshine on the outdoor sofa enjoying a peaceful and tranquil lunch together. Bliss!

Toying with going down to the beach for a swim tonight. Trying to decide whether to bring the rabble or not. Feel like i should as it’s been such a crap summer so far, we’ve barely been to the beach at all. Last year we practically lived down there! But the downside is my window for actual swimming will likely be limited as a result as they’re not going to want to just sit on the beach getting cold for 30-40 mins.

Unsurprising @Adam, considering your accomplishments earlier in the year. I reckon you’ll still be class in Tenby, mind.

I did a very sweat treadmill run on lunch. 30 degrees, no air flow.

5.5k, 1.5% incline.
1.5k steady (10k pace), 1k flat out x2, finish with 0.5k somewhere inbetween.

Chapeau :tophat:

Went to Sainsbury’s
Then Waitrose (when I couldn’t find any dukkah in the former)
Then John Lewis for some reed diffuser oil.
Finally, topped the tank up with OPECs finest :oil_drum::qatar:

Oh, also walked to the pool and back, then walked the dogs, then walked the dogs again :white_check_mark:

I also solved a few sudoku puzzles over lunch.
Which was homemade; cod goujons, in a ciabatta, with Tartare sauce and a side of triple cooked chips.

Unsure on my new brand of capers, they’re very tart!

Evening ride replaced with a first ever night ride for my eldest as she asked for bike lights for her birthday.

Way cooler and way more important.

I’m going to assume she fitted them herself :joy:

She thinks I’m epic at fixing bikes! :joy: :joy:

My wife on the other hand begged me not to touch my bike again!

Hmm, not sure, difficult to tell without the side on view, but the position looks very upright, maybe raise the seat a little - tribars would certainly help, probably need a longer, lower frame, maybe a P3?

She did ask for a road bike for her next bike. She said her one was too slow as I rolled past her on the downhills.

Gym this morning.

Rowing, 3k, 0.25k.
S&C, 3 sets each of banded bridges, sumo squats with a kettlebell, calf raises, side planks, an crunches.

5.4km trail run with Mrs FP running and LO on her bike. Was going to run the 7km back but some mails needed my attention before I left, which caused a meeting to be called soon. Boo

. Was thinking about cycling tonight, but had a feeling I’d rather pop to the beach with the kids followed by a beer.

So i ran the long way over the Exmouth dodging the grockles on the seafront in the lovely sun at lunchtime in anticipation of my bail! :joy:

TT bike now has new, functioning brakes. New pads for the carbon wheel. New bar tape. BTS bottle holder repaired.

Looked like a right tw@ riding home in running shorts and vest!
