No that’s the thing! I’m shagged but keeping going…bike in was okay today. Swim was solid - a 1:37 100m without hurting. Then start losing my vision cycling home…retinal migraine or summat.
We have days like this @joex .
I was up at 0530 to go for a swim today, but stepped out of the pool partway through session. I had the rest of the day off for a long bike but just had zero energy so did the Tescoze food shop & put 2 coats of spray primer on my ageing gas meter box.
Some days your the hammer, some days your the nail.
I’ve not been right since the 5K last Wednesday, no obvious symptoms and not really an issue swimming. Running is really tough, legs are drained, breathing feels heavy and laboured.
Not sure if it is something to do with pollen, hassle\stress from work leading to poor sleep habits or if I’m also fighting a bug.
Hopefully an extra day in bed this weekend will help.
30 minute spin class.
30 minute swim.
3km swim 1:32/100m average.
Main set was under that.
The warm up and cool down were not and took me
Over.
So close.
My fingers now ache. Maybe should’ve stepped
Up to 2,500m first
After all this talk of people being under the weather, I thought I’d join the crew. Woke up feeling like a prime but had a friend’s brother visiting so took him out on a 55k/600m ride. It was absolutely Baltic! Nestle in today where possible!
My wife left earlier than I expected so my run was gone. Did get 10 hours sleep though that were clearly needed. Couldn’t motivate my boys to go to Bushy for a jog walk Parkrun. Will have to see if I can them out on their bikes later for some sort of jog.
To top it all off I’ve over cooked my boiled egg
Because we are addicts and in any other setting would be meeting in a community ctr!
In Richmond - supposed to be doing Thames Path 100 but pulled out due to work getting in the way of training. All hotels booked and paid for so making a weekend of it following the race and spending some time with Mrs T and the dogs
Gentle jog down the Thames this morning
Met up with Adam Kimble at the start - he is the race director for the ultra that me and my son did in Namibia. Over from California with his family to do the race. Looked up his race bio - Western States 12th place twice and 8th at Leadville among others. Really nice guy.
Fucking hell I look old
44min 9km progressive jog. Ended at 4:32/km.
Nice
Went to Llandudno. Walked up the Orme, did some tobogganing, had some chips and doughnuts, 10km walk in total.
Drove home, went back out for a progressive 6.4km jog in 30 mins, finishing at 4:08/km.
Very noice
45 minute spin class. Warm AF.
Sat through 2 hours of screaming kids at a village hall/bouncy castle style party. And that was after getting cabin fever in the house all morning as the weather was awful.
Harder training than any of you sissies!
Eh??
It was 16° here this morning, 18° in Llandudno and 20° when I got home
Absolutely class.
Roll on Training Season
That was lunchtime today…
Sun then followed it at about 3.30. So we wondered down to the beach for a walk. Yesterday was absolutely glorious.
About 9.5 hours for me this week, mostly propped up by two outdoor bike rides with 85K this morning at ~190W. Not sure I’d have fancied running 21K afterwards though.
Got the running back to 33K but that also included a trail run on Friday.
Swimming remains a challenge but I went 3 times and I’m slightly extending the distance of a longer swim each week. Would have done a bit more on Thursday but was having a sugar drop so got out.
Due to go away on Friday this week so I’ll need to front load the week with cycling and possibly swimming as I won’t be taking my bike and not sure I’ll bother to find a pool.
13 hours this week
A much more SBR based week
Highlights …
30 min bike / 20 min run
Completed four times
Bike the same ( 180 w in a far too aggressive ( for me) tt position) run 12.5,13,13.5 and today 14 kph.
The target is obviously 15 … unlikely I guess, but I’ll tri!
5 swims
1 garden turbo
Spin class and the usual boxing session.
Up early, gym.
15 minute row, the S&C on glutes, shoulders and core.
Like @apm I was up early (0540) but with the dog.
Then did 2 x 25min Zwift efforts on courses I’d not done.
Into Derbyshire for another 10km walk up a small hill now
