Training - What Training?!

To you Londonists…

What’s Regent’s Park like for running? Looks like there is a popular circuit going around the outside. Any reason not to do a couple of laps? Other than risk of death by a poor, lost rural lad being out in the big smoke Hans Solo. :joy:

I do it by myself on early runs. It’s good. You race the cyclists before they open the roads to cars. I enjoy it - you can say hi to the giraffes on the way round. And a couple laps of the track if you want.

Ah sounds perfect then. Will set my alarm and get out for an hour before breakfast :+1:

Wear a nice watch and see if you can outrun a moped.

Yeah it’s totally fine, probably better to cycle it but you won’t get lost!

Treated myself to a lie in.
Walked dogs, then hit the pool …

… absolutely crammed :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
They took out the lane ropes even though it was already chaos.

My goggles started leaking, rubber had gone brittle around one socket :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Then my hat wouldn’t stay on.

Rage quit.

1550m at an abysmal pace due to dodging the dodderers.

I can’t wait to retire and breaststroke over two lanes at 8am.

EDIT: I do appear to have four pairs of goggles at home :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::woman_facepalming: so now have spares in OW and pool swim bags.

2400m swim - found it tough today. Drills and some extended reps.

90 min bike ride started off on TT but bailed early as the wind was super strong. Did the final 60 mins indoors, mostly in the drops

2nd hand. Already done ~250km.
If I only wear them 100km I’ll be happy.
Just wanted to try them.

10k jog with a mate. Nice to see the sun and have a chat. Done too much solo training recently which I’m hoping the changing seasons will put a stop to

Went outside. On a push bike.
Rode for 95 minutes.
Covered just over 48km.
8pm came, so I rushed home, before my bike turned into a pumpkin :jack_o_lantern::high_heel:

220W NP
184W AP (I did a few hills!)
135bpm (barely beating!)

Sleeping poorly? Funky RHR/HRV scores? Might be coming down with something? Keep it easy if you do train and recover well :muscle:

Not sure, 10km race wrecked me but it’s definitely something more than that. Never felt so fatigued after 10km, not seen such low readiness values. Feeling okay now, had a day off yesterday. Have a hard workout tomorrow so will gauge from there.

Hope you feel on the mend soon Joe. I don’t think I have readiness on my watch, but everytime I look at a suggested run workout it says: base or rest!

I’ve had great sleep last 2 nights, but lots of yawns today, but mind and body feel in much better place!

Managed a lunch bike ride yesterday with the sun beaming which was great. Deciding between interval or threshold session today, and a long run planned for Sunday - could be my first week of solid training of the year! I’m also on a new mission to address my steady weight gain. Currently at 6kg over race weight. Better eating habits together with more training and hopefully see the trend go back down.

Why is it so hard to back off training when you know you should?

Hopefully that means you’re feeling better!

Binned off the club ride tonight as I’m exhausted. Gonna have to set an early alarm if I want to get a decent run in too as my Mrs is off up north for the weekend, leaving me with the kids… :upside_down_face:
