Training - What Training?!

Yesterday was a 5 mile run then up to the gym with the Mrs for a kettlebell session. Somehow managed to get roped into doing an abs and glutes class after this. Ouchy!

Had planned a road ride today, binning that due for high winds.

Actually feeling quite tired and sore after yesterday’s varied sessions, so may take this as a rest day and potter about the house, give the pups a long walk and just chill

Had planned a 10km easy run but my leaking window has taken priority

My weekend run is always on a Sunday evening. Looking at the weather and this 2 day crapper of a storm is passing through by about 4pm. Sweet.

Winds are looking a lot lighter, and little to no rain forecast. Just gonna have to think through route selection as there’ll be a lot of flooding in the roads… Or I might just stick the trailies on and go discovering all the flooding. I might go beaver hunting down the local river, see how their work has affected the flow of the river in flood.

Looks to be easing off here in Winchester

Getting windier in Glasgow, glad I didn’t venture out.

Right. Wife and eldest have escaped the boredom of the rainy weekend house for a couple of hours. I’ve agreed to sit in on the nap shift for the youngest (as I’ll be out running tonight).

Time to fight the laziness and not just sit around stuffing my face, but get 45 mins or so of body maintenance in. Some stretching and basic conditioning.

Sounds like you need a treadmill

There’s barely enough room in my house for a foam roller, let alone a treadmill! Haha. That and I’m actually a sane person, so would never do that to myself!

Well now my hips and glutes are wobbling all over the shop as I walk through the house. They’re so pathetically weak. I really need to keep this up if I want any chance of staying injury free this season. Especially under high intensity training!

Faffing about (unsuccessfully) with the window chewed up some time. So after a top coat on the ceiling and and a core workout painting the trim, I snuck a very easy 6km. I wanted to do 11km and had time but honestly, my heart/head wasn’t in the right place.

Nice work :v:t5:

We’ve had my parents round all weekend and I’ve done diddly squat…

…apart from biting my lip and flying off into a rage at various comments

Very hit & miss week for me, been feeling a bit tired and keeping feeling like I might be coming down with something which doesn’t really manifest, a couple of other people I know feel the same.

As mentioned the parkrun yesterday felt harder than it should have been even considering the wind and I cut that session early. I had planned to run up to 2 hours today, set my alarm for 8am but just couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed. When I eventually did I bailed on the run after 13k, but did do an easy 5k on the dreadmill. Feel a bit livelier now and might have an easy 30 minutes on the Wattbike.

So far this week I’ve done about;

4 runs @50k
3 Wattbikes @78k (with reps on Wednesday) - hoping to get to 100k
2 swims

Got a few things on this week and luckily it’s an easier week so I might skip most of the harder sessions but see about a parkrun next weekend.

Trying not to dig myself into a hole and get illness.

This weather isn’t helping either.

I thought that was just me when I couldn’t train…

15 hours this week…
I just didn’t have another 18 in me… and life did get it the way… thankfully

Highlights were 2 x 2.5 hour rides with increased power for exactly the same hr.

A fastish 9.5 km outside run

Plus full distance swim… ish … faster again, which is still slow.

Lowlights were the rest of it… very very tired and probably slightly under weight at the moment.

Sooooo looking forward to a recovery week…!

Stick at it folks

Just under 15 this week.

Highlight was yesterday’s park run as per 2020 goal thread.

Struggled on Monday nights swim but I was absolutely knackered. Swam both today and yesterday and really enjoyed both swims even in busy lanes.

Son number one has got himself out of bed 4 times already this evening, which is staggering as he got up at 5:20 with only a half an hour nap this afternoon - so I’ve binned my last run for the week and I’m eating apple crumble with ice cream and washing it down with some Rioja.

:crossed_fingers:t2: Crossed storm Ellen doesn’t ruin next weekend too

Three runs and a turbo this week, Leg is pretty much healed after my off on Friday last week but thumb/wrist was a bit sore on the bike still, hopefully back to normal next week.
