Training - What Training?!

I think I may have come to a crossroads.

I don’t think I want to ride on the roads any more. Pollution, dangerous drivers, faff. Going out for a road ride just doesn’t appeal any more.

I have a hankering for getting back into mountain biking.

Greta won’t be proud though, I’ll be chucking a bike in the van and driving to trails!

Still intend to use the turbo.

Much less likely to come to a crossroads on the trails

Utterly tripe, they are :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

11km 1hr for me …

Nettles, bracken, gates, hidden divots.
Twisted my knee in a massive cow foot hole. FFS.
Slow jog/walk home.

Crap. Who enjoys this???

10 mile run

A session of calf raises seems to have sorted out tightness. Other heel felt tight too, so need to keep doing the sets to avoid any hassle

Managed to get out for 92K on the bike this morning at just over 30kph, that’s usually a decent guide for me as it was quite windy and I just had standard kit on. AP was 200W. Then a 3K brick that was pretty painful :joy:

Quite a big week at 10.5 hours and 47K of running which is probably my biggest this year.

Only swam twice so far and might see if I can get there for a recovery session this afternoon, but the two sessions weren’t bad with a bit of quality.

Should try and take it a bit easier this week as I’ve got a half next Sunday.

8 hours this week with 30km of running.

Which is 1 hour less than spent writing an AI to solve Minesweeper as a homework project for CS50ai week 3, definitely need to get out more.

You don’t write AI’s you teach them surely, you write programs, intelligence cannot be written.

It’s the terminology they use on the course :man_shrugging:t2: but IDK, think on this course they use AI as umbrella term to include anything where the computer’s brain is put to use to solve a problem.

Machine learning is next on the agenda, haven’t quite got there yet, think this week is going to be a low volume training week as the homework is writing a program to get the computer to learn how to play and win at “Nim”.

9 hrs 10 with 70km of running

Supposed to do back to back long runs this weekend but instead did Delamere 10km with my daughter in the chucking rain. Not sure I could have tolerated another long run in the rain after 30km yesterday

Mrs T cracked on at the 10km

1600m swim.
8 x 200m easy.

Lost my wedding ring, which I take off prior to swimming, but its made a bid for freedom from my pocket somewhere :see_no_evil::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::sob:

Warren James will be getting another £29 from me :joy:

EDIT: ring handed in. Faith in humanity restored.
I mean, it weighs about 27mg and is microns thick :joy:

Got out for just under 19kms with some friends this evening. Absolutely stunning night down on the new estuary. Nice big spring tide meant a bit of wading which is always fun. Full moon reflecting off the water. Nice temperature - shorts and vests. No wind. Quiet. Loads and loads of wildlife. Perfect!

There’s a partial lunar eclipse later but it’s been a stunning evening.

New estuary???
A river just appeared?

My cycle to work was fantastically cold and foggy from Nuneaton to Coventry.
The mini cycles back were in glorious sunshine :sun_with_face:

Nice watching the sunset from the train and got home to see the massive moon :new_moon:

It’s what happens when you re-introduce beavers

Haha. Yep the beavers did it.

They redeveloped the estuary into a new nature reserve. Got rid of the cricket ground and flooded it again. Built some new dykes and channels and bridges and stuff. Loads of new paths and bird hides.

It’s a cracking area and will get better in a few years once it’s settled.

Do they bite though

If you’re a tree, for sure

They are great pics. Saw Lee on the weekend, he said he’s running the 110 with you. He was sweep on Saturday but I saw him has I was driving out, so not sure if he got bored or gave them the hurry up.

Yeah he is. He’s done a lot more training than me that’s for sure!

Unfortunately 2 of my buds have pulled out so there’s only 3 of us on the start list now.

Going to be a bit of an unknown!
