Training - What Training?!

I am getting nothing in these last 2 weeks. Work is busy so lunchtime slots have vanished, and my evening gaps are fleeting. By the time my dinner has settled I just don’t want to go out running.

This hasn’t been the best year for me by a long shot! But I’m trying to be positive and not stress, as life is very multi faceted. Sometimes training and fitness is at or near the top of the list; but currently it is not. As long as I don’t let myself go too far.

More of a semi rant/post than training thread! :joy:

Anyway. I’m going to read my book about mental toughness. Mental training instead of physical. That works right?! :joy:

Back on the running track tonight 15x 400 off 2:15 ( 1:20 for 400 and 55s recovery), loved it but think I’m going to regret it tomorrow

A week of nothing, and I mean nothing!

tired in the morning, busy at work, then DIY evenings means no time left.

I do like a decent track session - I am not in a club so not the easiest thing to do - have been to the City Of Manchester one with my son a few times

My favourite track so far is the one in Chamonix - free to use and you can walk straight onto it

1300m swim focussing on keeping my elbow high in the pull and getting a good catch. A couple of 200m reps, so my longest continuous swim in 2 years. :grinning:

I did a 370m swim and a bit of surf lifesaving :joy: does that count?

Last session of the year for our kiddo so they got the parents involved. Was really good fun and totally lucked out on the weather. At the comp last week it was a total washout!

30km run with the dog

One of us was full of beans at the end

After a really chilly week, it was bloody warm today

Faded after 20km - need to work on my long run fitness when there are no hills to provide and excuse for a walking break
