Training - What Training?!

Fucking muscle in quad, still fucked

Obviously early days since tear, but thought I’d try it out this evening.

held up for 2k before it began to play up. Well, that’s further than after injury/ pre physio - but whether that is down to rest/ massage and no running for 3 weeks, or the benefit of prescribed exercises working I have yet to determine. This all feels horribly familiar and I hate it.

Just joined a gym - honestly don’t know why I didn’t think about this earlier - anytime fitness

I can get on the elliptical machines too so get a decent work out - I get a full body comp assessment next week - and get access to all the equipment that will strengthen my quad again and hopefully strengthen everything else - make me bullet proof!

£39 a month - 24hr access and really local - that’s very good value

Really trying to get back some fitness. Managed one (short) run last week on holiday. Have done a couple of short treadmill runs and some basic gym work in the past couple of days whilst the family are up in Brum, hoping to get a parkrun in tomorrow and to get a bit of consistency once half term is over.

I did a lumpy ride today & Strava decided to take the piss out of my commutes & turbo sessions :joy:.

Nice work, 2,385m is a solid day out, especially at this time of year :muscle:

Thanks, as Strava has hinted I don’t do it very often but the stars aligned today.

Decent weather, decent legs & most importantly my wife is visiting her mum :tada:

Did one of those swim thingies. Enjoy it. Odd.

Ivs swam twice in the last two years but my first 100m was still an easy 1:43. Technique is still there. Same about the endurance.

Mrs T dragged me to a 45 minute circuits class after an 11.5km run this morning.

Enjoyed it but I am going to ache all over tomorrow

Only managed 6.5 hours this week and more running, 45k which included a 17K trail run this morning. And there was the parkrun yesterday.

Cycling has mostly been short sessions hoovering up double XP in ToW. Also managed a couple of sessions at the gym.

Not sure when I’ll swim next, I had good intentions to swim on Wednesday but the pool was rammed with the dark nights and school holidays so couldn’t be naffed. The Garmin is now pointing out there’s been no recent swim activities :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::joy:

Got my eye on an 18k fell race next weekend but it’s a bit of a trek, nice course though and if it stays dry should be decent so might make the effort.

Shockingly bad week last week, two different bouts of illness, first Monday and then Fri/Sat.

Zero swim

4hr bike
(Tues/Wed)

3h15 Run
(Wed 6km/Thur 5km/Sat 5km/Sun 21.3km)

which included a half marathon (a training session 21⅓km easy, HR was a zone to 2 higher than normal for the effort) yesterday morning, but glad I did it otherwise Id have been 1hr53 less.

Exactly why I missed all my swim sessions, couldnt be doing with the walk in the dark.

Should be okay this week, hopefully a bit more motivated.

One junior parkrun with my 9yo daughter. That’s a 2km run for the uninitiated.

This is all.
