I clearly have much to learn!

Not heavy and not very fast. Just thought I’d see what it’s like. The RPE was massive but I found I was able to run despite it. …I did do a lot of holding on to things gasping though.

The first couple of sims are a shock to the system one way or another
The good runners struggle to lift and the lifters struggle to run
Some people who are good at both struggle to put it together and people who not paticulary good at either manage to pull out a good race.

It’s weird

Try it again, your body adapts quite quickly to be honest

Anyway … this should be in the new fantastic hyrox thread before the pencil necks start bitching ( again! )

Not sure where to put this but this seems the best place. Me and the guys I cycle with had a session at Manchester velodrome. It was good fun. A few of us have been before and they told us to create a pace line on the blue line and do through and off. Every lap the leader would swing up and rejoin, then every half lap.

She said if we come back soon and do as well we can beome ‘regular riders’. Feels loke a good way to add a bit of variety to bike training.

Injury ( boo!!)

Best/ worst week for some time
3 hours static bike / row
5:30 static bike total
2 hours running
Two swims
Two strength sessions
Pb shoulder press ( way behind Ginger bingo !)

Today was
20 min ski erg ( 4415 m)
20 min row ( 4620 m)
20 min run ( 4615m)
Constant ( no rest) like a tri !

Gold standard Is 5 k for each, which is 4 min kms for an hour. ( difficult)

Ham string tweeked at 19:20 mins
Bastid !!!
First injury for some time … don’t think it’s too brufen, deep heat hot bath

About 7 for me, with slightly more running than cycling and even had a full day off on Monday after the race last weekend.

Couple of harder efforts on Zwift and the parkrun yesterday.

Had planned on a slightly easier week after the race and a few aches.

Token effort in the gym which I need to increase.

Session 1 - 1hr15m with 30 minutes Tempo (The Grind 30) 10’ 85rpm, 10’ low 57rpm, 10’ high 94rpm
Session 2 - 30m easy (illness in bound)

Session 1 - 3.5 km v. easy
Session 2 - 3.5 km v. easy

Feeling better in the last 4-6 hrs hope that continues to be the case. Worst week since 2017, when I stopped training almost totally for 4 months. Even worst than the week or two I had covid.

Totally felled by a bug doing the rounds. Sneezing out of my eyeballs and coughing spleen up. It’s a nasty one

I’m suffering a bit too.

Saturday morning saw a kid with a throat infection, took a swab but as I touched his tonsils with the swab he coughed in my masked face.

Strep test lit up like a beacon

that evening I started to get a sore throat

luckily I know someone who can prescribe me the appropriate antibiotic and started it straight away, but still feeling a little crook.

Been ill six days now… colleague tested positive for covid today… he got ill two-three days after me… but I reckon its the same.

I felt okay yesterday did a mega light walk/jog and 600m bob in the pool 2:12 / 100m

Today… so tired… pretty certain it is / was covid.

Started too Hard ( the bike is 100% over reading ) but it’s the same for us all I guess.

Yesterday 3 x 1k flat out on the treadmill, with 0.5k recovery inbetween.

This morning 45 minute spin class. Really hard.

Since I’ve finished feel lightheaded and a bit woozy. Think I’ve overdone it.
