Training - What Training?!

I did another ride. That’s 2 in 2 weekends (I’m counting today as part of ‘last’ weekend).

And 2 in 2 where it’s bloody pissed it down! Got an absolute drenching.

Felt much better than last week which is great. But did hit a total brick wall at about 60km and limped home. Started with a couple of mates who were doing a big 100miler, so hadn’t really thought about route and distance, just turned off at what felt like a sensible point. But it was further than I’d realised! :joy:

Still. Ended up with just under 80km and I’m not as smashed as last week. Legs are tired, but I’m OK this time.

Didn’t manage to run at all last week as was a bit chaotic with easter break, sparkies in the house etc.

Will try to get out a couple of times this week when we’re back in normal routine. See if I can get this old body ticking again!

I think I’ve knocked a good 4 months off my life with the ZRL races in recent weeks :grimacing: chasing fruity, buzz & tupps is probably nicer :joy:

I’m selling it to myself as a few hard sessions as the season starts!

Gym nice and early.
Repeat of last weeks leg session.

2k row, then 2 sets of banded clamshells, banded and weighted bridges, kb sumo squats, kb goblet squats, kb deadlifts and calf raises.

Trained twice today. And worked an 11 hour day!

5am 30 minute spin class.
Lunch, 15minute run. 15minutes functional fitness.

Also smashed in a whole Easter egg. And an ice cream.

Thursday 8k easy run with zl

Hip session in the gym this morning:

10 minutes of stretch and mobility
4 sets of 25 abductor 25kg and adductor 15kg
5 minutes plank (in total with many rests)
100 press ups (ditto)
the one leg alphabet thing, right then left
2000m row at 200W
100kcal on the Nordic skier at 270W
3km run down

About an hour and I’m wobbling now

Physiotherapy, utility rides, sub threshold swim, sweet spot bike.

07:45 Cycle to physio
08:00 Physiotherapy
08:30 Cycle to pool
09:00 Recovery-ish swim, 5x100 at 1:45s
10:00 Cycle home
12:00 Sweet spot intervals, 4x10min ascending

Feel like I should go for a run to close it off :sweat_smile:

I’m paying the price this morning for an hour of core in the gym yesterday, my whole torso feels like I have been in a fight. Probably should do this more than once every 6 months :see_no_evil_monkey:

Got out for a run this morning. Grey and drizzly but perfectly still. Did my wildlife loop and it was one of best ever!

Only just under 10k, but first run in a couple of weeks.
