By taking lots of @Poet breaks?
Heart Rate like a hamster too. In fact maybe they are a hamster?
Faak me, you need to unfollow her ASAP ![]()
Thatās bonkers ![]()
My way of also saying bloody impressive but not for me ![]()
With a wetsuit
Iām a slow swimmer
Thatās a long long way !
Has anyone ever swam further on here ?
That level of swimming is equally impressive and terrifying. You must be bored silly swimming 8k in a pool.
Anyway, honking session today.
15 minute tempo run.
2 x bb bicep curls, db push press, kb deadlifts, kb sumo squats. After each set, 3 x kb thrusters.
You might think thatās not too bad. Youād be wrong.
Temperature in the gym was 32 degrees. It was so hot, that sweat repeatedly dripped down my hands onto the equipment.
When I did a thrusters, a huge dollop of sweat rolled off the bottom and hit me smack bang in the middle of the forehead.
Iāve also drank 4 pints of water and still donāt need the toilet.
Is @Whisk feeling ok? Just seen heās done a run on Strava!? ![]()
Standard 27km bike loop. Couldnāt drink the water from my bottle because it got too hot. ![]()
Less hot than the IM runs heās done, apparently. (I think itās on the Weather Thread).
Lunatic.
90 min turbo session, big gear work
Day 2
90 min inc 2 sets of 3x 2 minutes (258 watts)
Edit:
Didnāt get the evening run done. Felt it would be too much heat stress and general stress for the day.
Tuesday 6k easy run then 2*14k bike commutes to new bike workshop
6km running.
100km at 100w avg over about 5 hours with something like 90minutes stopped or something - it was very hot. Climbing up cobbles is miserable, as is descending them.
Arrived back to where we are staying to see a Pro-ish cycling race ( https://www.heusdenkoers.com ) cycling past, so pretty much ignored it as watching cycling races is boring by the side of the road.
Hopefully two of those things should annoy people - anyone annoyed by going for a run?
After saying this I started improving as the day went on and half fancied a swim but went to the seaside with the GF. Was late getting back for various reasons so couldnāt be bothered to go for a run or in the garage.
TBF I was probably due a full rest day.
5 x 800m with 2 mins rest (Is that allowed in an interval session @Poet ?)
My mate is mumbling about trying to do this once a week over the winter, he reckons they make you run faster or something & he has a London marathon place next year.
First run interval session for 3 years. Reckon Iām 15 seconds per km slower, and twice as ugly.
You donāt stop though, do you? You just walk and gently jog. Ergo, movement continues. As soon as the movement stops, itās a new run or ride ![]()

2 x 30km commutes yesterday.
Easy 5.3km jog this morning.
Tight calf.
Iām really struggling to get out at the moment. Been a busy week, and then back at work with a pretty full on day yesterday. Today is looking pretty impossible as well; unless I fancy a late evening session. Which iām not feeling super thrilled about. Hoping the mojo comes back, as i was starting to feel much better.
Going to try and get out around 4 but peak heat ![]()
Got a massage at 6 so running afterwards will be uncomfortable.
Really need to swim as well.
Thatās the time when Iād like to run really. But family life doesnāt work like that for me unfortunately.
I need to embrace earlies again I think. Theyāre the only bit of time that canāt be gazumped (except by laziness/sleep).
Haha, I woke up about 5:45 and wondered if I should try an early run while it was cool, then fell back asleep ![]()
New house + summer holidays = No training.
Itās just the way, bruh.
Embrace the garden coffee on a morning.
Listening to the birds and the pond water feature.
Maybe some apples falling to the ground.
And try to ignore the UAE A380s taxiing ![]()
