I had a friend - admittedly in his 20s at the time, who used to run a mile for every pint he had drunk the previous evening. He became a pretty good runner off this strategy - on one occasion completing a 10 mile race in Dublin having arrived the day before with no accommodation booked, and spending the night in a pub lock-in.

Last set all out..
34 v 26 in the old man’s favour he will beat me one day .. but not yet !
Actually went outside on the bike! It’s been mild, dry with not much wind today but still grey. Fairly enjoyable apart from the cretins trying to kill me ![]()
Hang on a minute its not January the 1st yet!
Re:
Got fat too quick ![]()
Did I reply about that or just keep it in my head.
2017… I gave up the bike and played guitar for a year, well 8 months (got pretty good) but I went from 10½ stone to 14½ stone.
67kg to 89-90kg might have done the stone conversion wrong but close. The kgs are correct (not sure why I converted to stones… maybe because I was recently talking to the inlaws)
next time take up the drums - you ever seen a fat drummer?
30 minute spin class yesterday.
Trained twice today.
Another 30 minute spin class first thing.
30 minute steady run at lunch.
5km run first thing.
30 minute spin class at lunch.
27km commute loop home yesterday and today. Very steady as still fighting the lurgy from last week.
Ran home from work last night - 12km - 12.5 degrees but bloomin windy - shorts and T shirt conditions
Ran to work this morning (car at the office)
Came home this evening and did 5.5km with daughter as training run number 2 for her deferred London marathon spot
It is VERY mild, @tunster!
5.2km run first thing. Did not need my winter baselayer.
22:29. 63m elevation.
Swam
1km. Prolly pointless. Better than sitting in a chair.
