Training - What Training?!

What do you think the equivalent of the Rapha 500k is in running terms?

Might try 100km over the 8 days ?

Trained twice today.

30 minute spin class first thing.

Probably the ā€œOnā€ Solstice Slog. 120km over eight days.

Or, the Alo Festive 15. 15km a day for eight days.

Perhaps, the New Balance 12 K’s of Christmas? 12km for each day of advent?

Trailberg Tinsel Ton? A 100km with the road men of JD sports.

Last run in Birchwood for me this :sunrise_over_mountains:

Elation is a word that couldn’t describe my feelings at not having to see the ashen, pained faces ever again.

Closest thing I’m getting to training in the past 3 months is cleaning the bloody house top to bottom. My back is going to seriously kick my arse in an hour or two I’m thinking!:roll_eyes:

I used to occasionally walk from the main office park to the ā€œshoppingā€ centre. It really is the grim end of society round there.

Our local Asda was like the dawn of the dead last night.

Managed 3 sessions today! Steady 50 minutes on Zwift this morning, easy jog\walk for 7k along the Cleveland Way, it’s very greasy and heavy going, jogged more than walked but very easy pace.

Then had a Christmas special TT up Bologna, usually get a double Bologna TTT about this time but not this year, I guessed I was safe from Fruity and Buzz :joy:

It was probably the hardest effort I’ve put in for at least 2 months!

May as well have gone out.

Do you keep your running shoes in the 3degree garage to lengthen the life of the foam, or because you’re a masochist who likes to put on freezing cold running shoes when you start?

Erm :face_with_peeking_eye: No smelly shoes in the house. So it’s a really warm changing room for me, too.

Don’t the foams get harder in the cold and wear out quicker?

Does anyone really know?, I’m sure freezing them is bad, just like high temperatures are bad, but I dunno if the recommendation to store them in ā€œcoolā€ places is a 3degree garage or a 10degree garage, I only said it to comment on the ā€œcold feetā€ aspect when going for a run.

Interestingly, these people say the new fast foam doesn’t get harder even in freezer temperatures, so maybe it doesn’t even make any difference for them.
