24km @ 5:20 min/km, 6°C dry and light ![]()
Was meant to be at approximately 5:35 min/km but it became very dull and ridiculous easy so just ran by feel, so first 4km was about 5:35 /km then the rest about 5:15 /km so ended up with a 5:20 min/km average.

Oh, there were a couple of 5:09 Ks in there, breeze behind and slight down hill.
Was going to do a reverse of a tradition brick, but got warm once I got back in and couldnt be arsed to get dried off and into clean kit for 30-40 minutes easy on the bike. By the time I decided yeah lets do this I’d tighened up.
30 minute spin class first thing.
15 minute steady run this afternoon, checking the state of my IT bands.
A random assortment of blue cheese, crackers, remnants of Doritos, turkey breast, mince pies, etc. and a twenty minute nap then…
Legs felt pretty heavy after an hour, but slugged on for 1h15
Then three pints of ale, including one of the weirdest I’ve ever tasted; Pastel de Nata “pastry stout”…did not finish that so 2.5 pints and then feijoada, rice and lemon meringue cheese cake.
What a load of bull.
5.5km tredders tempo run.
Went on Zwift. Again. Managed 47% of the Rapha Festive 500. Half and half.
Bah humbug.
About a quarter then ![]()
Red day, took the advice to rest although it was “just” a swim day haven’t been feeling too bright after the 2.5 pints last night.
Early morning walk in the frost though with a coffee, then recycling and dishwashing, and cleaning garage so not a totally lazy day.
6km easy
266th run of the year.
All activities 508 hours for 2025 (lowest in some time I think)
10.4km to get me to 100.1 km for the 8 days (7 with a Boxing Day day off)
50 minute slow treadmill run.
My now traditional out just before sunrise New Day run. 18km this year.
A bit of drizzle at the beginning and end, no expected frost.
Might do a short ride later.
Did 45 minutes easy
, ended just after sunset
2hr18 for the day.
Surprised to see 2025 was better than 2024 on all metrics, just about . Although 2024 was the year I bust my hip and couldn’t do much for a few months.
Going to be a challenge to match that in 2026 I suspect but >365 hours logged is the goal, so maybe it will happen ![]()
Think I’m @funkster ‘s parallel universe twin as all but about 2 of those rides were outdoor, hope that meets with your approval @Poet. (Simply as had no indoors setup until we came home… which is also I imagine the reason for the 61% rise in vertical)
1hr 45min 35km gravel, mud, road ride, trying to get my head round some of the paths that are local to me. This is going to be very challenging for my poor sense of direction.
6k easy run with zl
45 mins strength
Five hours cleaning out the garage in the bitter cold so had to knuckle down to get this one done…All New AI at the TrainerRoad shack:
Still playing with it
Still loves Pioneer-3 I see (thats a TR in joke)
Whats the 0.3% fail? Thinking sod this I’ll have that last piece you yule log.
Be interesting to see how it goes, I can’t see it liking the training load of a triathlete. Non cycling activities seem to heavy weighted against.
Last time I tried it it down graded nearly all ‘workouts’ to Z2 because of run, strength and swim sessions. Obviously ignored the RLGL, and did VO2, threshold etc with no problems. Do you still get the option to over-rule adaptions in the new system?
No adaptation prompts so far. In fact nothing to write home about yet. Others have had significant ftp changes.
Fatigue detection reacts to my runs if I’ve not been consistent, which is fair and it has learned that a hard ish club run doesn’t affect my TR workouts.
