Training - What Training?!

LO wanted to go SUPing tjis morning, so once I’d written her out of the will, we headed to the beach. I swam alongside her, so I guess that counts? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Then we did a 9km out and back walk to Wool. Hot chips may have been involved.

Just under 12 hours this week for me, mostly cycling including the race today, 8 hours in total. Not much running, only 2 runs and 22K but put a bit of effort in for one and picked up the pace at the end of the run yesterday.

Nearly 2 hours of swimming but no particularly long sessions.

Week wasn’t helped by the heat and had a few things on a couple of evenings. Hopefully improve this week.

Knee still isn’t right though :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Great week of training looking at it from what you have posted.

Are you feeling good?

Yes I think so, I was planning on having a slightly easier week this week, as last week and next week I’m doing a 100 mile ride, as well as the other stuff. Next week will be my biggest week. Feeling ok, don’t feel exhausted, feel the same as usual, which I suppose is good, considering the increased volume. Swim seems to be improving too, I’ve massively under trained in that department. Had no motivation to swim until open water swimming started in May, then I’ve had a few missed sessions for a number of logistical reasons.

12 hour as usual

Hyrox stations this morning . Full send .. as they say

Beat my buddy by 2.. seconds

Which is crazy over 8 efforts .. easily the hardest bit of the week .. hamstring went Thursday morning ( again ) next weeks tri is in serious doubt now ( gutted as I managed my first sub 8 min 400 m swim this week )

Crap I know .. bike power is good through sleds. Spin, lunges etc

Runs have been good recently

See what next week brings ..

onwards

7 hours last week.

Just running in the morning for a minimum of 10km - until Sunday and my soleus was a bit tight.

Today I feel like sh1te so just cycling back and to the garage, as the car is in for a service.

Having new windows put in, so Mo and I are currently at the back of the garden until I can take her back into the bedroom

6km treadmill run at lunch. Nice and steady with a couple of efforts thrown in. Unbelievably humid.

17k jog, nice conditions but had to grind it out, felt very sluggish.

Only another 25k to go :face_with_spiral_eyes:

A couple of sessions in the pool today, just floating and aqua walking. Back and hip have eased a fair bit. Going to hike tomorrow but do a shorter one than planned with some bail out options.

Glad to read your back has slightly improved from yesterday. Enjoy your hike tomorrow

Went for a very slow hilly 5km trail run and 40 mins strength - doing Caroline Girvan’s Epic 3 program on YouTube, day 38 today

We have missed you.

Well I have, not creepy at all, lol, I mean, I thought you had moved on from tritalk and possibly would not be back.

Or am I wrong, I normally are, maybe you never disappeared.

I was reducing my Internet time, then i’ve been quite ill with my asthma since Easter. Felt awful on all the medications and not very sociable.

Anyway, feeling much better now and can even start doing sport again

Thanks for missing me. Nice to know :folded_hands:

I 100% understand all of this, for myself the worse hay-fever of my life, and random illnesses Ive never had before, guess it is called getting older in my case. Not been able to train properly and ironically I entered my first IM last October, now the only challenge is to complete, I had hope of finishing before dark when I entered.

Ive been trying to reduce my internet time, I have been successful in that. About 85% of my internet time is here.

Haven’t managed to catch up on everything yet, what ironman have you entered?

But yes, I understand, it’s very frustrating when training doesn’t go to plan and our health has other ideas. Hoping you can train consistently now.
