Training - What Training?!

I’m not sure which one I have, it’s a Petzl something. Just grabbed it, it’s an Actik Core. Not ran with it much, bloody brilliant for DIY!

I have a couple of Energizer ones; one is 315 lumens and has a red light function too, but it’s compromised by the aforementioned issue for running.

6km family trail walk/run. We upped the ante with 5min on/ 3min off. 48.00min, a pb of 4.50. :sunglasses:

Groups of six setting off, it was quite ofd to be running in a group again.

Didn’t go for a run last night, worked on one screen, with TdF on the other.
Didn’t go for a run this morning, did some work.

Did I mention I’m back at work full time for the first time since October 2019 :wink:

Might go for a run later, seeing as I’ve done nothing today.
Need some form of event to train for…

Zwift just doesn’t do it for me :frowning:
It doesn’t take account of how low I can get on the TT bike, whilst still being comfortable.

Take Fuego Flats, my speed is nowhere near comparable to my real world speed for the same watts.

12km run with 5 x 1km Z4
First time I’ve tried to run outside of Z1 in a long time (about 18 months if you count the year I didn’t run at all!)

5 efforts on trail were up and down the same 1km so slightly different gradients.

4:18’s average. Probably pointing closer to 4:45 pace for next week’s sprint.

Not sure if I’m happy or not with the pace, it is a starting point though. Certainly weren’t max, eyeballs out efforts, just hard Z4.
I am very happy that I still have 2 achilles and 2 calves in full working order.

There was an awesome photo that @wiganer mocked up of me carrying a handbag around that course (my arms look like a little T-Rex when I’m running)

Is that the course from the Hilton down to St Anne’s and back along the seafront?
It was blowing a gale the last time I ran there, did a 1:22:xx and saw human excrement on the street, swore I’d never go back.

That is the Great North West Half in February.

It does start near the Hilton (think it is called the Imperial now) but doesn’t go as far as St Annes.

It does get very windy on this course and the full marathon must be a right struggle!
