Training - What Training?!

Nice. I do that too with Red Bull cans round here. I collect one every ride as I secretly hope it brings good karma

Ah yesssss i get you Nick.

I also found 12 bottles of wine recently just dumped/fly tipped in a box on my doorstep. So i did the right thing and brought them in and tidied them up.

Did they have a name on them do you could give them to their rightful owner

It had washed off in the rain

I’ve stored them safely in the cupboard though

after running to time on Monday and Wednesday, I now find myself 2km short on this afternoons run :frowning:
So my 9km / 45 min jog becomes 11km :frowning:

48.3km required this week.

I found it adapts, like anything I suppose.

Getting to that point isn’t nice, though!

55 minute treadmill run, nice and steady.

Was the 13 k in an hour ?

I’m shooting for consistent 50km and 1000mtr vert weeks for a month or so (plus whatever riding I squeeze in). 18km to do tomorrow for 50km but I won’t make the vert, mainly due to time and my back.

Vert sessions screw me up for a while and I have to contort myself under the car for a while fitting that bloody screen wash motor. (bumper off job)

Finished my working-out week.

210km bike, 10km run. All, absolutely all, indoors.

Did a couple of new courses on zwift. Watched a lot of telly. WW2 is nearly over in my pain cave. Fortunately new series of Vikings has just landed. Butt hurts. Not used to this much turbo / spinbike. And spinbike has weirdly reset so it takes 25% longer for equivalent mileage. Maybe it’s been speaking to zwift about my weight increase. Bastard.

Need to channel my inner @mungo2 - I can get better at this. I can build buttocks of steel. I will. I must…

Comfort is king for the long turbo.

A saddle that fits you, a pad in your shorts that does the same and a cream you get on with are essential.

Position too, I have one Argon tt bike I can’t hold aero on for 10 mins and one I held 1 hour 20 mins with zero movement yesterday no prizes for guessing which one I prefer…!

Zwift is not for me, but lots of my friends real and virtual swear by it, some big results too.

I’m in my own little world and very happy there, it’s all in your head ( and crotch ) in these unprecedented times I’d avoid complex programmes and do what you fancy, if that I is a complex programme then do that.

Hope this helps

I like Zwift but for over 15 years on the turbo, I just had a cross on insulation tape on the wall to focus. (and music on the radio).

Looking back, it was shit :joy:

The nobbers around here prefer Fosters; not even beer technically.

I hope I’ll have fonder memories …!

But did you go
#faster… ?!

Cheers!

I do half and half, zwift and the funny little bike computer on my spinbike that may or may not know what I weigh.

It’s all movement in the same direction and so long as I crank up the resistance I enjoy it.

Sometimes more so as even when trying to avoid it you end up in petty little battles when zwifitng…

I think you might be right re saddles. I clearly need narrow but big cutout. And that is dash to a t…

I need something too…

With lockdown 3.0 looking big, I need some form of turbo based challenge.

Watts, Power meter , distance ( I know it’s not real) box set GOT, and challenging my real ( tri) friends who are all doing big turbos at the moment are all options.

I have three of these … in the right position there nearly as good as the dash but a lot less cash.
