Two one hour circuits.
One very easy, legs a bit stiff today, second one had repeated planks and shadow boxing so a bit more work there.
The weather is crap.

Full of
but determined to get a session in. What a life.
12km run. Too windy for MAF so did some intervals instead.
12x 400m intervals at 3:20km pace for me today, with 1:25 recovery time. Potentially got some shorter distance stuff coming up so thought Iâd start doing some speed work. HR was very much in the red towards the end!!
Eh?
If youâre running to HR why does it matter?
Pace would just slower.
Iâm looking forward to my run in the 45mph winds tomorrow
I know!! But into 20mph wind I just end up crawling. As it is, I did just about stay around my target HR, and enjoyed the 1km intervals.
Had big plansâŚslept at lunch. Slept immediately after work.
I guess that was a recovery day then!

Day two of this new fangled Zwift adventure has possibly lead to the demise of my work laptop!
I had it running while I hopped on a different call and it took my battery from 80% to 0 in under 15 minutes.
And now it wonât turn on.
Thatâs going to be a good one to explain to IT!
And I think itâs lost my ride.
Zwift kills laptop.
Sounds like it should be on FB.
What is the World coming too, well done anyway.
The amount of work laptops killed by something people shouldnât have installedâŚâit just stopped working!â ![]()
I think Iâm probably not going to mention Zwift to IT. My excuse⌠itâs been being a bit recalcitrant about charging for a while now, and it was good of me to confirm this was an issue!
Exactly - âit just stopped workingâ
My favourite âit just stopped workingâ was when the guy said that, handed me the laptop, we had a chat about something else, all good and he walked off. I opened up the laptop and the keyboard had been smashed to bits like heâd taken a hammer to it(!).
45 miles on turbo this am
50 mins hill reps this evening
Forecast for tomorrow is horrendous - treadmill again me thinks
Well after close to 15 months of continuous training I finally had to sack off a session due to injury.
Achilles decided it didnât want to be run on after about 300m
Itâs stupidly windy here anyway today, so walked home and did some weights and swim cords.
Did some heel raises / lowers with no pain.
Have an imposed day tomorrow as Iâm taking Mum to the hospital and picking her up after, so that will give it 48 hours off
Did find some lovely tight knots whilst on the foam roller.
3x10 min @ 100% FTP with 3 min rest this morning on Zwift after run of 2x18min @ 155HR last night out in the real world

So, itâs âworkingâ again today, but the battery appears to be borked. I suspect this has been the case for a while, and it was just that running Zwift on it drained it faster than Iâd experienced when just working on the sofa.
It appeared to go from 100% to 0% in about 30 seconds earlier, so is now going to need plugged in all the time.
Do I accept that this is just a thing now, or get IT to send me a new one? It seems wasteful to get a new one. It will also be annoying at some point when I want to be able to work on the sofa (or anywhere that a power supply isnât immediately available).
do you have an ipad or something similar? I gacve up using my work laptop for Zwift and swicthed to the ipad. Itâs smaller, which is a bummer, but loads so much quicker. Also doesnât wreck the work computer then!!
I did an hour on zwift yesterday and it smashed 50% of the ipad battery!
Most likely it;s just that the battery is old - they should be able to send you a new one without replacing the whole thing
Tried a little brick session last night as a way of doing a short run on warmed-up legs to test the calf out.
Could start feeling it within a few hundred yards and probably should have stopped and walked home but completed a mile (which was the plan) and it was a bit sore afterwards.
Think I might take a couple of weeks off running completely, focus on strengthening it & stretching with the hope of it being OK by the 29th when we can meet up to run again.
