Training - What Training?!

Farrk, hardcore mate! :+1:

I’ve had a good weekend. 50 miles yesterday with a few hills and for the first time in a long while, they felt a lot easier. Even set a pb going up the Silent Pool side of the Newlands climb. TBF, I haven’t done it many times, but I just had to chase down a chap who was wearing woolly leg warmers.
This morning was an over-under session, with one of the very rare occasions when I had to bump up the intensity, so my fitness seems to be going in the right direction with the first couple of time trials on the horizon.

I have mine autopause when stopped and have been known to stop it when coasting up to/away from junctions and also on the last 500m home

13.5hrs for me this week.

Solid week of 8.5hrs, plus a 5hr ride today.

Me: Fancy doing a century Sunday?
Mate: Nah, bit early for that.
Me: Okay, let’s head out to Derbyshire, a few hills.
Mate: Yeah, sounds good.

5 hours and 121km later and we’ve done nearly every hill from here to Hathersage and Back :mountain_snow::face_vomiting::see_no_evil:

Goyt Valley wasn’t busy at all @Doka
Looks like people are petrified of Derbyshire Police and the £200 fine, best get it done before restrictions are lifted :+1:t3:

Also, @r0bh - The Street has been resurfaced. No potholes now :confetti_ball::tada:

I remember SteveI commenting on club runs you could always tell the people who had it on autopause our of desperate to have high average speed 'cos they’d sprint to the lights and brake hard to the lights, stopping it yourself is a good way to pretend not!

Do you do those 5km ā€œPBsā€ that are sprint for 500m rest repeats too?

I’m not ruining my brakes/rims/legs sprinting to lights, far easier to stop it 200m out when doing 32kmh and restart it.
Strava helpfully autocorrects the distance for you if you click the button, gets the pace up even more :rofl::rofl:

No! Deffo don’t do that when running.

Although on the penultimate hill today, I was crawling up it so slowly my Garmin kept auto-pausing :see_no_evil:

Some good efforts today and this week, weather has been good.

I had planned on doing a Zwift race today which would easily take me over 200K for the week, but got a migraine about 11:30, the usual visual one which goes after about 30 minutes, but after that had a headache most of the day and feeling fairly tired and washed out. Usually get straight over them but in recent years I’ve had a bit of a malaise later in the day. Might be coming down with something of course.

Might try an easy 30 minutes on the Wattbike or just sack it and go for a walk somewhere.

Looking forward to the 4 day weekend

Oh dear, I’d ask work if there’s any chance of a call :joy:

I’m trying to avoid extra time around there because of all the schools being closed :grimacing:

If the forecast looks good might have W/B 12/4 off

Anyone ever get LR power balance differences?
I always expected I’d be right heavy… But most rides Im 51% left.
62k on TT yesterday and was 48% left.

Just gone out for a warm up and hard effort and warm up was 40% on the left then 42% left on the effort.
I’m haemorrhaging watts outside as it is…

Straighten that back, tense up the abs and bend with the knees :+1:

It does help a bit but there’s no avoiding stooping when gardening unless you’re in a wheelchair.

78 work hours.

Mostly core and circuits, long week nearly done!

Chapeau those that work 50 hours a week and hit 15-18 hours training too…!

How …?!

They work 50hrs a week to pay for their previous divorce and train 18hrs p/w to create their next one.

I am pretty consistent 52/48 right bias when pushing, and looking at the pedal stats it’s because I start pushing earlier on the right, at about 11 o’clock rather than 12 on the left.

Yes I seemed to go much earlier on the right…

Might put the dynamics on the head unit to watch it mid rudely

Yes, I’m really bad, consistently something like 57/43% R/L across various powermeters including the Wattbike.

It’s also been pointed out in a couple of lab tests I’ve done, one even recalibrated the bike because they thought it was that bad!

Having said that, when I tried the Wattbike last week when it first came back I noticed it was a lot closer, but it was only a 5 minute test so I’ll need to do something longer. Wondering if the pelvis problem I had was contributing to it, that was the left as well. Although this goes back quite a few years, I’m not sure how long the pelvis has been out.

You know It might be be your wheel on trainer. I couldn’t and struggled to put out consistent power when I used one. Direct drive changed the game for me
