6km pull and paddles

I had some sharp random pains in my right knee on yesterday’s run and the back of my knee felt tight all afternoon, so I bailed my normal early doors run today. Might go for a light mtb but with 6.5wks to go, don’t want to screw up anything now.
1 hour endurance Zwift ride all in TT position this lunchtime. That’s my longest continuous session in aero.
Nudged my saddle forward a few mm, and that seems to have helped (raised it by a few mm the other day as well). I seem to be narrowing down my position with these little tweaks at the moment.
As my pads are a load of crap (in general and not designed for my preferred position) i think i’ll start doing planks and press-ups every day to get my forearms and core nice and strong. Quite happy for it to hurt my arms a bit if it saves me some dollar. It’s only 2.5hrs or so, and bruised/sore forearms isn’t going to impact my running. So f**k it.

But being uncomfortable wastes energy
Oh totally, and i’ll do what i can within my resources to minimise discomfort. But i do have a resource ceiling that ultimately trumps everything, so will be a case of making trade offs.
For example, leave the pads and bars, buy some Conti GP 5000s with latex inner tubes vs. get crappier tyre/tube combo and scrape together (maybe) enough to enhance the cockpit.
Thing is i also don’t want to spend on things that will be specific to this bike, as i would like to buy a TT bike in the future. This can then go back to being my everyday bike (well it is an everyday bike now - everyday & everything!!! haha) .
Sacked off a run this morning, just felt tired and achy legs from Two Run Tuesday. Considering its the first time I’ve felt like that during the plan ain’t too bad
Nothing now for a week and intermittent for the last 3 weeks. Work and baby not sleeping stopping me getting the chance to do anything. Quite frustrating but hoping the baby will start sleeping a bit better at some point soon. 17 months old now and has only slept through once.
Massively jealous of everyone who is able to train at the moment. Keep it up all

10.5 mile run this morning. Jogged round in about 1 hour 20 - felt a bit sluggish the first hour
Going for a ride later - quick once round the reservoir - burn off the last of that BK last night lol
Pretty pleased with my lunch time run, tried to pace the 10km as I would at duathlon, the Oulton MD in June has 10km x 2.
The target pace was 3:50 as the winner of the dualthlon I am doing next weekend at Carlisle did 3:40 for both 4km runs. If I could get near that time then I know what I need to do next weekend.
Supposedly it was my fastest recorded 10km on Strava at 36:24 with an av hr of 159. The wind was a real challenge being an easterly there was no respite out or back.

I tried the XTenex laces post run with a T2 practice run. They work fine, I slid a finger in the back of the shoe and grabbed the loop on the tongue then shoved the foot in. Quick tug laces and good to go. I did the drill 8 times with 100% success and the tension of the XTenex laces seems to be ok
35 mile out and back up the crow road this pm. Just missed the rain too.
Bottle rack fell off. Roads here are a bloody disgrace
14 mile climb followed by 14 miles of hand strength exercises hauling on the brakes…
Had planned a few more hundred meters of climbing but I’d got up into the clouds and had neither the lights or the courage for that.
