It was humid today mind. I did a Bergen Run (20kg) 10x up ‘Hill Lane’ (300m @ 11.7%). Totalling 446m ascent in 7.4km at 8:58/km pace in boots. The guys building the stone wall on the hill must have thought I was nuts; they certainly didn’t say anything to me! Best ascent was 3:04, slowest 3:21.
Need to get hold of some cycling endurance in the next 11 weeks or so. 60 miler today started off ok then slowly but surely the watts dropped after the first 90 minutes, disappointed at best
8K run at dinnertime with 5K tempoish, ~20:30 but was flagging in the last K and it included a few dead turns, ramp and got caught at a crossing, so not too bad.
Also jumped in the river tonight for an abysmal 1K swim, but if you don’t swim you can’t expect to swim fast! It was warmer than I expected but the windchill off the north sea when I got out was a shock, had to go to the sauna to get warm.
Was feeling drained yesterday, but put it down to a mix of too much sun, dehydration and underfuelled.
Went to the pool today with the best intentions of at least 60 x 100m off 2:00
After about 20 I was feeling less than energetic.
Thought I could hold on for 50, but called it at 40.
Managed 1km pull and paddles afterwards, but that was a struggle.
Currently on the sofa rethinking my day.
