Training - What Training?!

Did it.

A huge 24 minutes in race kit, sockless.
Debating socks on the bike or not?

Wearing them is a new thing to me - take about a minute to get on, is it worth it???

9hrs 30mins for the week, lop-sided taper.

Right, off to research low fibre foods and Imodium now :see_no_evil:

For me it’s always sock, bike and run.

Beautiful 70km ride around the lanes in glorious sunshine (before it gets too hot) with 5 other mates. I’ve missed that. So nice to be riding, chatting and not feeling like I need to be on the pedals constantly.

Also was dropping everyone on every hill. At least a couple of the guys were killing me last summer. Granted they’re probably off their last year form, but i’m deffo up as well.

Just PBd on my local big hill (Peak Hill) down from 7.00 to 6.15. And I wasn’t pushing it. That’s the most comfortable I’ve ever climbed it, and I had a gear left even on the really steep bit. Chuffed with that. Race seems to have left no significant fatigue at all.

Ready for a day of kids bday parties and a bbq round a mate’s house later. Beers earned (even if it was an easy ride! :joy:)

128 miles on the bike yesterday…… cooked!

Was in the Fens so managed less than 300m of climbing in 206km…. sounds great, but it means there is zero respite as you never get to freewheel…. rest day today!

That was a cracking ride, must have been hard work in that heat.

It was OK while moving, but the moment we stopped, it was like a furnace!

Nothing this week. Nada. Zip. Sweet FA.

After Race to the Stones last Saturday seemed to come down with a bug that left me felling a bit drained. Three covid tests this week all ne hat I’ve so I guess just a regular run of the mill variety.

Plus a lot of work including 3 midnight finishes.

Gotta be back on it next week. 6 weeks to UTMB.

Through 1h40 was fine and enjoying the warm sun at an easy 6:07-6:15 pace then plummeted to 6:38 so I cut it short through some shady woods.

Glad I got it done though.

47miles, up early and stuck to mainly shady lanes. Quite hilly and legs a bit dead but a great way to round off the week.
