Training - What Training?!

Did anyone mention it was hot?! Was bearable on my commute in, but then went for a nice ride with some work buddies in Exeter during lunch break. Was like riding into a flippin hairdryer!

Think the hottest part of the day is due at 4pm. Just in time for my ride home! Think i’ll just be cruising pace!

We did just do a bit of a silly race on a segment towards the end. Being the consummate triafleet, i was most put out by having to ride significantly over 85% of my FTP!! :rofl: Did hit 1.1k watts though. Legs were feeling it coming back up the hill to the office! Taken like an hour to stop sweating in my flippin work shirt and trousers :angry: (one for the rant thread)

Various gym tests that whilst still tough are seeming less impossible each time I do them.

Except walking lunges … knee to the floor…200 ms carrying 20 kg

Anyone got any hacks or tips how to do these?

Nuffink today. Don’t really plan on much now. My left is definitely not happy after my tumble yesterday. Maybe a 6-7 walk tomorrow or Thurs and that will be it.

Also managed a 20 minute spin class at lunch. So sweaty.

Managed a short bike ride, which was made longer when my original cafe was closed!

Also managed to pick up my Autumn 3/4’s this morning so looked like a right div with those on in 26c sunshine :joy:

Rest Day.
Farted around making a NoPinz race belt, sorting out my new vented Aerohead and looking at race kit options.
Again.

Bike is ready for a quick spin tomorrow (I Zwift the morning before the race, to avoid any mishaps!) and a little brick off - all in full race kit.

Wrote a few lists, checked them twice, can’t decide if I’ll be naughty or nice :man_shrugging:t4::umbrella::roll_eyes:

Feeling good, much better than IMUK, more relaxed :+1:t3:

Have to say there were a lot of NoPinz belts at Ironbourne at the weekend especially amongst the pointy end crew. These are clearly becoming a lot more popular

Sick, not training. Chest infection but not Covid at least.

Gym brick session today. 45 minutes of Low cadence / High cadence intervals ( 110% FTP ) with recovery between, then on the treadmill for 30 minutes at my intended HM pace.

Drove to the local lake. Realised once I set off I’d forgotten my watch. Nevermind.

Water temp was 26.7 degrees!!

Couldn’t be bothered with wetsuit hassle. Did 3 laps for 2250 metres in my budgie smugglers.
