gotta love an optimist……
Euphemism?
Did some running
600/1200/1800/1200/600
At 3:40/km
I didn’t like it.
The end.
I didn’t even like reading about it, let alone try running it.
I also decided to go to the hard stuff (not the track, that was bumpy, rutted and slippy in sections - totally crap for reps! ).
6 x 800 off 2 min recovery, 3 min r, 400m
2.43, 2.41, 2.38, 2.39, 2.37, 2.35 and a 1.04 to finish (think I started a bit conservatively, but buried myself for the final 100m).
A long way to go yet, but it’s a decent enough start. HR recovering well after the reps. Legs are definitely the weak link at the moment. Also I think old father time is finally catching up with me. The free top end speed I’ve enjoyed my whole life seems to be finally, slowly (I hope) departing me. Hopefully it’ll stay relative to my aged peers!
Nice
800s here too, not as fast as yours though
8 1/4 hrs driving - working on my boredom threshold. Only 3 stops. Progress
For some reason I enjoy the thought of you running on that run down track.
Very Rocky IV training montage
Good for proprioception. That’s what I tell myself.
Absolutely not feeling like getting out of bed before 7am this month, which means no swimming
I’m still properly tired, though
Much like @Poet, I’ve lost the discipline to get up to go swimming.
Hour on Zwift ticking off some routes
Will have to be up for swimming tomorrow, as back at work
Covid jab and acupuncture left me with some incredibly weird dreams last night.
I genuinely thought Brian Blessed was trying to break into my house.
Anyway, 30 minute spin class this morning and 4.5k run at lunch.
Feeling a lot more normal so hoping normal service will resume tomorrow.
Actually managed to complete my hard bike session this morning. 10x4min @ 105%ftp (280W), 4 min rest.
On Tuesday, I failed on rep 4 so to do all 10 today I was pleased with. MaxHR on Tuesday was 151bpm but today maxHR was 143bpm. Felt a lot better but I was definitely feeling the last 3 reps.
3.5mile run with the dog afterwards - nice and gentle (legs a bit wobbly) 9:40min/mile, HRM acting strange so ignoring it.
100km to Beeston and Bunbury
31kmh 215W NP 138bpm
Pretty windy and I’ve only got “normal” wheels now
Yesterday - hangover ( first time seen family in 18 months )
Today - undulating 11 mile run. A solid benchmark route, and felt OK
Might sneak a ride in later. Quiet country B roads -
4km in the pool
2km swim - 7:43 / 7:48 / 7:41 / 7:43 splits
2km pull & paddles - 7:42 / 7:44 / 7:44 / 7:42 splits
3 k swim
Straight out
Boom!
First swim of any description since crash/lung shadows/no IMUK drama, so 7 weeks or so.
Target was an hour, but managed 58:35, one of the benefits of being slow is you haven’t got far to fall I guess.
Enjoyed it
Preaching to the choir!!
6km run with Little One, 42 mins
