Stick = board ( usually short but my new is 8ft long which is a hyper super tanker compared to what I’m used to)

Fat = when there is swell but too much water for the wave to break, usually happens at high tide or when waves ‘double up’ which makes them lose their power.

In surfing, wave shape is everything, size is less of an issue, unless it’s flat as a tack.

11 hours this week.

3 x 1 hour static bikes, one with quite pleasing results.

1 hour swim… steady away.

Tough 1 hour hyrox test, work still to do, the rest just core/ weights/ basic cardio.

Leg strength has improved but running is harder, you never get it all do you!

Went for a fun swim in the 15mtr pool at the holiday place. Only 30mins but you get it to yourselves as you have to book it.

Then followed up with a trail run/walk. Putsborough to Woolly via Potters Hill ( I hope NC 110km doesn’t go up there! ) then ran back along the beach in the teeth of quite a strong westerly.

7km, 52mins, 203 mtrs

Yeah we really like it here. The wind backed off during dinner but looks to be blowing up a storm now.

Yesterday, hour in the gym. Mixture of rowing and weights.

Sporting a hangover today, booked onto a 30 minute spin class later.

Nothing for me today. Missed the social Sunday ride as Mrs GB was out last night and had been ill all last week, so I was being kind. :innocent: But then today got busy and I’ve lost my planned evening run. Well, I could’ve still done something but I’m shattered.

First day back at work tmw in almost 2.5 weeks so it’s gonna be mental. Then I’m off Tuesday for funeral, so that’s not helping work situation! Driving up Monday night, back Tuesday. So two more days lost to no exercise. Luckily I’m not training for anything at the mo, just trying to get in decent run shape. Not quite sure why, but I’m really lost without any sort of goal. So I have a semi decent parkrun tilt in the back of my mind. There’s also a local road 10km that I’m semi tempted by in about 4 weeks. Though I’m not sure how crap a time my ego could cope with! :joy:

Any chance of getting a run in en route, or early in the morning?

We were up in Ludlow for a funeral a couple of weeks ago & managed 2 decent runs in a new place, which kind of added a bit of fun to an otherwise fairly meh 48 hours

A poor week from me really. No running and around 5 hours of cycling. Have enjoyed my swimming this week though!

Felt absolutely shattered after camping last weekend and never really got going. Could have ridden yesterday morning but opted for an extra hour in bed and a lake swim. The right call I think.

Spent yesterday and today in Bristol, seeing my brother in laws new house and took them a bunch of baby equipment. Just another draining couple of drives though. Had planned on hitting the turbo this evening but all enthusiasm has rapidly dissipated.

Hip area is feeling much better after Fridays sports massage so I’ll head out for a tentative 5km jog tomorrow and see how I get on. Need to get some focus back!

All undone by pizza, Peroni and 2 portions of vanilla cheese cake.

Potentially on the Tuesday morning, yes. I’m going to take my kit with a hope to get on the hills or coast path, but I’ll have to be up early.

Will also depend on how late I stay up with my brother catching up and sinking a few beers, as I’m going to stay with him. Won’t get there until 10ish though, so could be a late night. Not seen him for a year I think - at my other grandparent’s funeral no less.
