Training - What Training?!

10.4 miles this morning to bring the total to 80 miles for the week, after 75 last week.
Starting to feel the fatigue as holding the same pace is now feeling much much harder.

1:12:40 / 6:59 pace / 128HR

Little One wanted to ride, so loaded her bike into Mrs FP’s car and I rode the 10km trails to Micheldever Forest, joined them for 6km or so, then rode back. All easy pace.

26km, 2hr24

So….

First road run for 10? Weeks, some hour t mill sessions in that time but that’s flat… well 1%.

75 kgs this morning thanks to a wedding and cider, usual 10 mile route, quite hilly and sunny out.

Last time I ran it at 75 was mid lockdown 2020 and it was awful, I was crap, hour and a half and it really really hurt.

Started very very slowly,no hrm, no music, trail shoes looking for a nice steady plod.

I could feel the weight on the hills but on the flat I felt great, never really got out of breath except the steep stuff and 1:18:30!

Bodes well for next summer when I return to normal body size to tri again.

Stick at it.

Week 1 of a 9 week mini run block with a half marathon planned at the end.

Half-jokingly set a goal of getting up to half (ie 50%) marathon shape on runalyze in that time.

Runalyze says marathon shape up this week to19% from an embarrassing 14%, so maybe aiming for 50% is actually a stretch goal :fearful:

7 runs, total of 56km over about 4.5 hours. Longest 12km. Had planned a longer run today but other stuff happened. Did get in an interval sess on Tuesday and a tempo run on Friday.

73.5 mile bike ride with old school pal.

Retracing an old Northants route, consequently took a few wrong turns. The east side of Northampton felt like the dark side of the moon - sucked into a hellish vortex called Little Billing - couldn’t get out! Did a few loops until we managed to pick the scent back up.

Undulating

Only thing I know about Billing is a brown sign for the aquadrome šŸ¤·šŸ¼

It’s next to Weston Favell, which slowthai raps about a lot.
Oh, and Weston Favell has a shit shopping centre which is on some shoplifting show on Channel 5.

There. You now know more about Weston Favell than Billing :+1:t3:

he however, along with me, now needs to work out who TF slowthai is though……

His ā€œNothing Great About Britainā€ album from 2019 was brilliant.
Political hip-hop. Non-London centric, yet still working class, not gangs, just being dealt a pretty shit hand in life and working your way around it.

Let’s hope so as I feel like shit now

Been feeling very meh about any form of exercise with nothing to train for in the foreseeable future. The one good thing has been the daily stretching and strengthening work I’ve been doing over the summer break and my left ankle’s really settled down. Had a couple of weeks away with quite a bit of walking and it’s been pain free, which has been a huge improvement.

Decided it was time to see if I could do a bit of gentle running so I went out yesterday and did 4x30 seconds with lots of walking. Didn’t feel great at the time but I didn’t have any reaction overnight so tried another one today. 10x1min with a 1 minute walk. This is the first time I’ve done anything remotely like a run in 20 months. There were even a few times when I couldn’t feel my ankle at all. Going to treat myself to a beer.

Make it a lot of beers and you won’t feel your ankle or much else!

The only thing I know about it is no sooner have you cycled to the end of a road - you are back at it’s start

Best avoided
