Iām only pulling your leg and grasping on anything that sounds like a double entendreā¦.
If youād like a double entendre, Iāll gladly give you one
(as the actress said to the bishop etc etc)
I wish I could take it this early but thatās hard
Steady 90min Zwift 61%FTP, 163W, 98bpm followed by 8km with the dog 47:16 5:52/km, 129bpm! so obviously a bit high following the bike. Need to work on having that a lot lower.
2 failed attempts at a tempo session on the treadmill.
What I planned to do: (1km @12, 3km@15.5)*2
Last night I got 3 km in then gave up and jogged for a few more km
This morning I got 4km in to the session and then canned it.
Tempo too hard?! Or maybe just too knackered from work this week.
Going to go on a steady wife jog soon, hopefully should be able to keep up there at least.
Great running FP - I have used Nok cream on my feet - great stuff - saved my feet from trench foot during TDS in 2018
Possibly tired, heat and work?
These sustained efforts of 3 to 4km at 10km to half marathon pace feel super tough
Does anyone else do sessions like this? I feel like maybe done with a group they would be more digestible. Might get a Zwift run pod & see if that helps
Yeah @jeffb been quite a week so far, back in this afternoon for more jabbing
Yeah, they are tough sessions and I think sometimes tougher on a treadmill, my reps on a treadmill tend to max at about 1.5K. Need to factor in the heat though.
These days I find it easier just to go and do a hard parkrun for an effort session, get dragged along by the crowd as such.
Gave it a miss today though to give my glute another easy day, so not done one for 2 weeks but did do the duathlon last week.
When I was doing actual marathon training they werenāt easy but sometimes I got one of the lads in the office to join me.
Hopefully the jabbing today will be a bit less hassle than the regular job?
Ran 4.5km to Parkrun then did that with family. I think Iām about 98km for the week
Power of the crowd- of course
You can get a treadmill simulator app for your phone.
Set your speed then Bluetooth it to whatever you run Zwift from
Thanks @Adam didnāt know that, will check it out
It wonāt be optimal. Having to manually change speeds etc worth a shot Iād say though
ParkRun - 18:12
3rd over the line.
Given how my HR has been over the last 3 weeks, I thought Iād have a bit of a push out before the HM tomorrow.
I could have gone sub-18 today and possibly PB-ed
The issue is that the last mile has a couple of short sharp inclines, which really push me into the red.
I decided with about half a mile to go to ease up and not go too fast as to not damage myself too much.
With about 400m to go, which includes two short inclines, but also a downhill stretch I was at 17:00, so could have buried myself but possibly missed 18.
Felt good when I crossed the line, so all good.
A 5km PB vs a GWR is not a hard choice
Power of the crowd (you guys) worked! Thanks
Got back from wife jog & then straight back on the mill to complete 2nd half of planned session
Resulted in a weird run:
Km1, 5:00 pace
Km2-4, 3:53 pace
Little whinge interlude on Tritalk
Km5-12, 6:25 pace,
Km13-14, 3:53 pace
Km15, 4:00 pace (had to slow it down a bit, blowing)
Km16: 5:00
Right. Ready to stick things in people for 5 hours & then definitely beer
3 x 2k RowErg intervals at stroke rate 22 with 3 mins rest between sets.
7:51.1
HR178
7:47.5
HR180
7:44.0
HR180
Hopefully get a an easy run / zwift and some light lifting after lunch.
Maybe this belongs in the DIY section, but today I wanted to move the left over concrete out of the garage so I can use my power rack and also move the tonne of soil to the back so the car can go on the drive.
8500 steps which is about 8k each time with a 20 kg bag of concrete or bucket of soil for a total of 800kg of soil and 440kg of concrete.
Thank god Iām seeing the physio next week because my shoulders are fucked
7.3 mile run - supposed to be a steady once around Arthurās Seat today with a second climb - however a runner appeared at the bottom of the steep section of Queenās Drive and we used each other to push the pace the rest of the way up.
I caved in on the drop although they very encouragingly said to keep going but Iām still weary of my hamstring - maybe time to rejoin a club
Tour of Britain appears to be here today
