Fair.
But can I point out that “sore finger” is quite a poor attempt at sandbagging, unless you Zwift on a handcycle

105min Zwift 71%ftp, 193W, 107bpm. Am trying to tick off all the Zwift route badges but now only the longer ones left to do. Was running out of time so had to up the power towards the end of the ride to finish in time
Trigger finger release surgery, doc.
Booked in for next Monday.
I have nodules in every bloody finger, so I’ve been told the likelihood of my whole hand locking up is strong.
Been told not to get it wet, or apply any pressure to it, for two weeks.
Seeing as it’s driving me mental doing tasks such as; chopping veg, wiping my arse, typing (sometimes in that order)
I think I’m going to listen to what I’m told
Sandbagging over.
@Poet Is this from the knife incident?
Nah - too much DIY. I think?
I lay the blame on the sanding tools and hedge trimmer at my last place.
The vibrations seem to have caused my right ring finger to lock up.
I have to manually open/straighten it after I’ve closed my hand.
Commute in and out of work today. Took it easy in, but had to busty ass to get home in time for Mrs GB to leave for gymnastics drop off. Cue massive fartlek session on the most frustrating route ever to go quickly on. People, dogs, bikes, gates, crossings, lights etc. You name it. Constantly. So worked out as a big fartlek session.
Ended up with 254 NP for a pb time getting home (despite being red lighted at each and every one).
Garmin gave me a new ftp of 260 riding in this morning and then upgraded that to 262 after I got home! Actually, I’d say that’s a pretty decent estimate.
Interesting. When I used to cut the hedge with the trimmer (I can’t go near it due to being allergic) my left hand was fine, until I went to hold something, especially a glass. My hand would shake, almost uncontrollably.
I had something similar recently. Picked up a few things and my wrist and finger spammed and my trigger finger was locked. Dropped what I was carrying and had to straighten with the other hand. Was after the deck so a lot of holding the impact driver and pulling the trigger.
Been OK since though.
So was mine for about six months.
Then it got worse, steroid injection three times (once every 6-9 months since)
Don’t want any more injections, so opted for surgery (this is all private, so I got a choice🙈 )
5.5km on the treadmill, 1.5% incline.
Ah. My mum had to have surgery for trigger finger also. Was a while back and its been OK since so hopefully you should be fine.
10.2 mile run - 2 laps of Arthur’s Seat - each direction so two good climbs
Dragged to modern art gallery today, so an additional 20,000 steps
After LO was born, Mrs FP has some syndrome that I can’t remember the name of but it was due to holding the baby whilst breast feeding. Both her wrists got very painful and apparently it’s quite common.
She had to have an operation on both wrists at separate times to relieve the pain. Something to do with a tendon getting stuck in its ‘sheath’. Both ops were private but via NHS.
Is that carpal tunnel syndrome? Always worried ill be heading for that driving a keyboard my whole career
No but a lot of guitarists get CTS. Just looked it up, it was called:
de Quervain’s tenosynovitis
Confusingly there’s also a thyroid condition named after him - de Quervain’s thyroiditis.
One you stick steroids in, one you don’t. I can never remember which.
(Just kidding, I can)
Now I know it’s a long time since I’ve lived in your part of the world, but surely most of the route is over “the common” and there’s just tractors and cows not traffic lights? (well I saw a weasel too a few weeks back actually, but I can’t imagine being slowed by one)
Isn’t that what Google is for
True but generally it’s considered bad form to Google whether to stick the big needle in the neck or the arm.
You need to make an excuse and turn the screen 90 degrees, at the very least
