Training - What Training?!

Had one of those yesterday & an early night. Thanks for the recommendation :+1:. Felt much more sprightly today. Obvious in retrospect :man_facepalming:

Feeling a bit rough today. Taking a risky strategy and apart from a couple of walk, don’t intend to do anything until Friday’s race. Saturday was my last run and that was only parkrun with a 5km walk either side.

I don’t think that’s risky. For a long ultra like that, you don’t need to be in bouncy, springy ready to go shape. you just need to be prepared mentally and well rested.

Cheers. Plan is to drive to Mum’s Fri am, then leave there for Minehead about1.45-2.00. Should take no more than 2hrs but who knows with M5 traffic from Bridgewater?

Shuttle leaves at 6.00, so I’m planning on getting to Minehead early, having a decent late pub lunch, like a jacket potato or something and have plenty of time for it to digest before starting.

I managed 2 x1kms at 2:00 min per 500…

That was it today, apart from easy core and a few weights not much in the tank after yesterday’s watt bike hell I’m guessing.

The winner at Leipzig rowed a near 3 min km and was seconds slower on the ski erg…

Stone the crows!!

1:30 splits is some going. Whats the best time for full event?

57:25…! World record.

Hunter McIntyre.

Bench pressed 200 kg and ran a 2:59 marathon in the same week … lol

My bad, 1:45 ish row speed, similar for ski erg, all runs are 3:50 for the km ish, which doesn’t sound that impressive but your finishing the sleds and the lunges at failure … there’s no t2 it’s just go!

I’m hoping for 90? Mins, which would be quite good for a first timer in my age group.

First Zwift race in a long time.
It’s hard.

The sleds both directions followed by the burpees is just cruel

Go too hard on any of them could be blowup

Everything is going well apart from the burpees … struggling to get the technique right.

It’s certainly a challenge.

Hour sports massage. Jesus wept, i’m going to feel that in the morning

The worst part is that you pay for it!

Twice I expect

I’m now getting free massages off the students again, but it’s been painful after not having many for nearly 18 months :grimacing:

I’ve been to see my massage girl 50? 60? Times in 5 years, probably more.

As she tells me, if it hurts there not doing it right.

She’s actually sent me away twice as I was too fatigued to massage.

She is the least money orientated person I’ve ever met.

I’m a lifelong over trainer and can’t change now, I probably wouldn’t be doing this at my age if it wasn’t for her.

4 mile run in new nike zoom fly. Man, they’re pretty sweet. I’d have done some damage if I’d had pair of these a decade ago. Oh well. Wasted on me now perhaps.
