5 runs, just 40km this week + 2 little bike forays on Zwift.
Work was irritatingly work-like this week & got to the weekend feeling pretty knacked. Then we had friends staying over Fri and Sat which was nice, but also a little full on.
Just been for a little run, wasn’t pretty. I dont remember exactly when someone worked the calfs and thighs over with a rolling pin, but it must have happened at some point.
1 week until half marathon. Hopefully can feel a little more lively by next Sunday.
Runalyze has dropped to 54% and is currently predicting 1h28, but it doesn’t know about the new Alphaflys because I haven’t worn them yet. Hopefully give them an outing for some intervals on Tuesday.
Still hoping for sub 1h25, best best case. On one hand, I feel like I’ve done the homework over the last 8-10 weeks & it ought to be in there. On the other hand, the bloke who went for a run this afternoon would probably have struggled to break 2 hours🤷♂️
You’ve done a lot of consistent training and I think you’ll do better than you think, and the hard Zwift efforts do help.
Hopefully work won’t be as manic but given your job I’ll be surprised, but assuming you don’t have friends to entertain. The mental fatigue is generally worse.
Pretty rubbish for me again, 8 full days off since the marathon but not that concerned, I hadn’t planned on having much of a post season break but have ended up with one but it won’t harm me.
Could have done without this cold, but I’ve had a niggly long week which has probably tipped me over. Monday was a long day as I stayed after work for a steady run and went to a running club meeting. Problems at work on Tuesday & Wednesday meant longer stressful days.
The TTT on Thursday went fairly well but I wonder if that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Roll on next week, hopefully can try something easy on Tuesday.
Patient man who works hard cultivating the plant sees great harvest when patience is combined with humility and determination in the days of the lowering sun.
Crazy crazy doms from all that explosive stuff yesterday, amazing how much you can wreck your legs in 35 mins when your going really hard at stuff you don’t normally do!
Boxing this morning was really really crap and the hour bike PM just made it worse!!
Still very light squats 42.5 today, I use 55 for maintenance in season but I didn’t want to hurt myself after the mara and Ironman races. It will start to hurt around 80 probably max out at 100.
Bench was 30 last week also very easy.
I’m fine with the running at least for now. I can’t get it out of my head that it’s the bodyfat that is the cause and not just a symptom. I haven’t managed to change my diet such that I shift it in six years or so of trying so I am fairly fatalistic about it now.
