Great opportunity to practice the friendly Brownlee shoulder grip

Physio said none of that either. He said just get in the pool and walk up and down with my arms, I said theres no way Im doing that.

Breaststroke is really hard work. but its hard to actually get the heart rate because I just cant move that fast. Because of my size and arm length I have had a slow turnover in crawl, even when swimming at my fastest, in breast its even worse. I just stall, whilst I wait for my arms to come around again. I read the Phelps said he times it so he kicks and then does his arms so hes always moving forward. Try that and failed.

My biggest bug bear in my pool.
I always swim AC in the lane as per the sign even if I’m on my own for the whole session, but very few others do that and swim up/down

Someone else ALWAYS gets in.

I cannot fathom how people don’t grasp the benefits of AC/C/AC lanes :man_shrugging:t4:

Going too fast? Dip under the rope.
Going too slow? Dip under the rope.

You can ā€œmerge in turnā€ pretty damn easily.

GRR!!!

Yeah that person sounds a bit of a plank. At least if you’re swimming up and down - keep a check on people coming in. I am guilty of swimming up and down when there’s 15 mins left of the session and I’m the only one in the pool. The lanes are double width so too much snaking around. A lot of time I have to swim up & down the middle of the lane anyway to overtake the heads-up breaststrokers in the fast lane

There is a special circle of hell reserved for people who head-up breaststroke in the fast lane.

Ha ha, unless you’re still faster than the other losers. Sorry, swimmers

After my mid pool row in September I switched to BS and still knocked the toes of the ā€˜pool users’ ahead of me.

And you don’t have people either side of the lane rope going in different directions where a clash of hands could be really painful or even worse

I’ve had that. Some wanker with an awful stroke that went too far wide and hooked my arm as it came over. Fucking hurt. He tried to blame me, I suggested he have some take a look at his appaling stroke then think again about whose fault it was.

Aerobic 10k after work. Misjudged how warm it was.

Haha, I also had a L\S top on and was warm, 15c (up north) in November

I went to the club again but after the 10K and hard Zwift last night this was probably a session too far, but easier to hang on with other people about.

Yeah, 15 degrees in the dark here, too :exploding_head:

Better keep buying plastic things I don’t need to keep it that way :+1:t3::see_no_evil:

I can’t remember how many wrist clashes I’ve had, I don’t even bother to stop now however painful.

Max 12°C here but felt warmer than I was expecting so carried my jacket this evening.

Garmin think I’m being productive for this first time in months :flushed: Obviously I will knock the swimming on the head then.
