First run post mara for me today (1 week on). Very specific sore and/or tight spots in quads, calves and hammies, but other than that things were ticking over ok.

Need to get on the massage gun and then the yoga to clear the legs off ready for a good winter of off-road running with plenty of elevation, topped up with some cycling to keep that ticking over as well.

That is very impressive :muscle:- I was really happy with my 6x10 until I read your post!! :sob:

14km trail run. Only 3km on road, the rest a mix of gravel grass and farmers fields.

Triceps bit stiff today, I love that type of stuff.

Supposed to be doing the same with burpees in two weeks, might be sick that day !

Some fit runners struggle with 6 x 10, well done

Not gonna lie, my other main sport is rock climbing. So my upper body strength is not too bad, still trying to do 5 full pull-ups though - I’m at 3 with good form, then it starts to get ugly.

600 burpees - think I’d be ill after doing them!!

Jesus won’t get 600 in an hour

Be made up with 300.

I love pull ups and there good for your back, bit scared of heights, rock climbing is tough

Pull-ups are a great exercise, just not very good at them. I do a workout once a week of 3 every minute for ten minutes.

I used to be scared of heights, but I’m used to them now. Find a local climbing gym and give it a try - you might like it!! I still get scared of falling into the rope though, don’t think I’ll ever get used to falling.

I did an Army thing at height years ago, if it hadn’t been against the clock I probably would have bottled it and failed.

3 a min is good.

I do them quite a bit, assisted ones too for loads of reps.

If you like pull ups and burpees and the like have you ever tried a Murph?

one-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another one-mile run

All wearing a weighed vest.

Cracking workout, @Mungo2. I’ve done similar things as a yoof, no chance of doing it now.

Anyway, 25 minute hard, uphill run on the treadmill at lunch.

The CrossFit types I’m talking to about the hyrox event in Jan are into that stuff.

They are beyond good at some of it, there not the best runners ever, but most are nearer your size than mine so hey ho.

I’m quite good at All those disciplines but that is some test, 100 pull ups is a mission by them selves.

This is just an experiment after it I’ll do something else.

I did quite a bit of this during the first big lock down, no gyms!!! Nightmare !!

It’s crazy how 10 a min is quite easy, 11 is much harder, 12 Iv done once…?! I think.

Failed 12 several times.

13 I can’t get past 20 mins.

I love the simplistic brutality of it, but that’s probably just me.

Garmin seems to have changed how workouts display, removing the HR Avg

129 for the bike, 131 for the run

Squatting 60kg now

First 5k since 5th August. Knee injury still undiagnosed but seems to be stronger now without feeling like I’m doing damage.

Slowest 5k ever by minutes, not helped by the treadmill somehow stealing speed (@fruit_thief is my witness). A 28 minute on treadmill is probably equivalent to a sub 18 IRL :grimacing:
