Cracked on last night with it:
Swapped wheels, arm rests, chain rings, bottle cages and saddle. Chain is in a bottle of white spirit
It probably won’t see the light of day again until February though

Track session with the club, only 9K and the reps weren’t particularly hard, less than recent 5K pace but felt tougher, not sure if it was the wind tonight or couple of days rest.
Oddly since I’ve started training I seem to be getting slower, go figure
Still, good to run with company
Wanted to write yesterday evening, but was too tired. Anyway, easy 7.2km trail run and 2hrs in the climbing gym in the evening.
2 hours climbing !!!
Me too
Yesterday was
1 hour bike started at 225 W which is far too high for me on a static bike with no fan.
The melt down at 44 mins was biblical went from a huge pb calories/ watts wise to not being able to turn the pedals ! Oh well.
1 hour circuit
5 pull ups
5 dips
20 sit-ups
20 lunges 6 kg core bag
Repeat.
150 l swim
54:20.
Won’t be doing much today !!
Back is no worse no better this morning.
Physio tomorrow.
Is that meant good or bad ? I need emojies!!! ![]()
It seems a long time to climb up something !
Don’t know how to do the funny faces on my phone
I’ll learn !!
It’s more up down up down
Ahhhh. The climbing gym is 16m high. The routes are graded according to how difficult they are 3 is easy (li,e going up a ladder), 10 very hard (I’ll never ever reach this level in my lifetime hard). I climb with a partner and we take it in turns - so I probably have 1hr of actual moving, the other hour I’m belaying my partner. When climbing multi-pitch routes outside, these can last several hours to a whole day.
Just wanted to explain what it means. Climbing is a slow sport, but very exhilarating! Think I go through a range of emotions from scared, frustrated to proud nearly every climbing session. It’s a nice balance to trail running.
It’s also great for my bad back !
I had a mate who was into climbing and went to our local indoor wall a few times with him.
I was much heavier than him so he had to clip 2/3 big sandbags to his harness so that he could belay for me.
If I fell off unexpectedly with a bit of momentum I’d lift him and the bags off the ground and there’d be a momentary pause while we looked at other and waited to see who would go back down.
Had 75mins starting now for a quick run/lunch. Been blown by meetings I ‘have’ to attend.
Might run or spin later.
That’s how it is for me too. Two of my climbing partners weigh 20kg more than me, there is a small device ( edelrid ohm) that we use instead of the sandbags, but I’m still pulled up at least 1m.
I took my daughter a few weeks back (she’s only 6).
She was so light that her weight could barely overcome the friction in the belay device!
. I had to feed the rope through to get her down.
Yesterday’s deferred strength session this morning followed by 3 bike ramps.
Love a bit of indoor climbing.
It is flippin gorgeous outside today. Sunny, warm and barely a breath of wind. Crazy to think it’s mid November!
Went out for a nice little jog off road on the common with a mate. Was a cracking little runch.
Hmm, I’m sat here looking out the window at it. My next opportunity is 3.30
“We will deliver the aggregate between 7am and 8am”
Oh, that’s my swim out of the window.
It’s okay, I’ll go at lunch…
…boiler breaks
“We’ll send an engineer between midday and 5pm”
Oh. Now that’s no swim or turbo.
And the dog is at the vet at 5pm, so wife has to come home from work.
Aggregate didn’t arrive until 9am.
Skip has only just arrived.
Jokes.
It was probably double figures on the top Helvellyn at the weekend in the sun with no wind whatsoever.
7.2km trail run this morning and a 3km after lunch with dd. Weather is miserable here at the moment grey and drizzly, forest is beautiful though.
